How to apply for Kouhaku?

I want to try my luck in getting Kouhaku tickets, but my problem is that my Japanese isn't enough to understand the instructions on NHK's site. I tried searching for instructions in English online and I didn't find any. I understand that I need to apply through mail, but I'm still not familiar with the postal system here. Any kind of help would be appreciated! :D
