This is a cross-post from this
tumblr post.
Hey Jun-fans!. There’s this thing that has been plaguing my mind since I come back from Arashi-hiatus this year. I notice the lack of regular fansubbing communities on Arashi fandom. Some fansub have gone through long hiatus or closed. Especially some that were focused on Jun. It’s really a sad but inevitable reality :(Then I have an idea. How about making a fansubbing community that was focused on Jun’s videos? I have downloaded almost all of Jun’s solo promotion for his dramas, Hidamari Kanojo or last year Kohaku promotion and most of them aren’t subbed by anyone in Arashi community.
So with this post, I gather courage to ask help from Jun’s fans on livejournal who’s willing to create Jun’s subbed videos community with me. The requirements are simple, you’re willing to share what you can do for Jun’s fans by subbing Jun’s videos so we can learn more about Jun. I personally able to do everything other than translating. I’m an experienced subber that used to work for DBSKnights (around 2009-2010) as timer/typesetter. I also can do encoding. The only problem was my upload speed is pretty slow, so I may need person who can do the encoding :)
And the main problem in fansub communities are always finding translators. Being translators are difficult and require a lot of works. Therefore, in this fansub, i won’t give any deadline schedule. You may work whenever you can. Being part of fansub community should not be about releasing fastest release. I believe having fun while doing something for fandom is what makes it worth :) I do understand that we all have real life. I’m also a full time working-adult (sadly) who probably can only work on stuff on weekend.
If you’re interested with my idea, you can always message me here. Also you can check on my livejournal :
http://fseventh.livejournal.com You can see several videos that were subbed by me on that LJ (mind you it has been years since I updated my lj though).
Basically all spots on fansubbing are needed: translators, timers and encoders. Thanks for reading this long post. Stay Gold, Jun’s fans.
