Question on Fan Club Application / Sponsorship

Hi! I know there have been so many questions recently regarding the fan club (FC) and this is another one of those. Hopefully, though, these haven't been asked yet.

I've read this post regarding a policy wherein current FC members can sponsor new FC members, provided that the sponsor will register the new member's application at the Johnny's Family Club in Shibuya. It also seems that non-FC members can legally sponsor new FC members. The post has more details, but given the information in the post as well as some of the comments I have a couple of questions:

• Has anyone else apart from the OP registered a friend or acquaintance to the FC using the sponsorship method? How was the experience?


• The post somehow implies that one can register for membership for someone else at the Family Club instead of going to the post office. For those who have applied for membership recently (preferably on or after July 2016) for themselves or for other people, is there a method you would recommend: via the Family Club or the post office?

I'm asking because I have a friend who's an FC member but doesn't go to Shibuya often as it's an hour from her place by train. On the other hand, I have another friend who works in that vicinity but isn't a member of the FC since she's not a fan. I'd like to know the best option before asking either of them. Also, I'd really prefer not to use a third party service in joining the FC knowing that I have friends already based in Tokyo.
