The editor-in-chief for Oricon Style compiled a top ten list of all the concerts they've been to in 2008 (out of a total of 154!) that left the deepest impression on them, and commented on each one. Since Arashi's Kokuritsu con was included on the list, I went ahead and translated the short blurb about it :)
[Eyes of the Editor-in-Chief!] Concerts that left an lasting impression from 2008 10/154 (1)
★ Arashi - ARASHI marks ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008
09/05 Tokyo, Kokuritsu Kasumigaoka Kyogijo
The Arashi that we have covered since their debut has finally reached Kokuritsu... those were the deeply emotional thoughts with which I watched this concert. After making their 5 dome tour a while ago a success and joining the category of big league groups as expected, when I saw the figures of these five people standing still in the Kokuritsu stadium that took in 70,000 people during sunset, I was honestly moved. With "Love so sweet" as the opening, Arashi raised up on a single stage; with this tune that had become such a great point, these five people who were overflowing with confidence made their appearance. With a total of 33 songs, they displayed a truly enormous growth.
Letting the fans in Japan see the power of these five people now, convincing, and then using this live as the start of their advancement towards Asia; that was the kind of "meaning" that this live held. It was a magnificent entertainment show.

EDIT: As a bonus, here's a snippet of Aiba's interview from the 02/2009 issue of HARUMO that I translated on a whim:
"Lately, I've often been told that 'Arashi's gotten popular!'. But to us, we've believed that this day would come since the very first year (laugh), so I don't think this is something that only came up over the last few years. Whether it's our attitude towards work or the way we do it, compared to when we first debuted, there really hasn't been much of a change. It's true that our concert venues have gotten bigger, and the number of shows we appear on have grown, but these are all changes in the environment, and not changes in ourselves. What's more, we have this confidence of 'everything we've done thus far are things that we should be doing', so I hope we can continue onwards with this frame of mind from now on as well."

Date: 2009-01-09 01:09 am (UTC)I don't think it has anything to do with confidence, too. I think they're just being true to themselves.
Thank you for the translation!!!

Date: 2009-01-09 04:23 am (UTC)It must have been awesome seeing the five of them in Kokuritsu. It's like looking at the same adorkable five people and yet seeing something different at the same time. *sigh*
I'm happy Johnny put them together and for that, I'm grateful. XD
Thanks for the translations!

Date: 2009-03-08 08:42 am (UTC)What I'm asking is that 'who' got the first place for the review. I accidenly type 'you'. xD But since they didn't rank it, it answered my question.
Thanks anyway. xD
