[MOD] New tags + rules update

Sorry about making another mod post so quickly, but I wanted to implement this system ASAP so everyone will be aware. Thanks to a great suggestion by font, I've added two new tags to the comm:

*locked (community), for use in any post that links to an already locked entry in another community.
*public (temporary), for use in any post that links to a temporarily public entry in a personal journal or community.

If your links will be locked in the future - even if you're not sure when exactly it will be locked - please state so clearly in your post. The *public (temporary) tag will be checked periodically and entries with links to personal journals that have been locked since they were first posted will be deleted, while communities will have the tag replaced with *locked (community). Like before, if the links to personal journals were locked right off the bat, they will still be deleted without notice.

I'm not really sure if I explained that well, so if anyone is at all confused by the new rule or still have questions/concerns, feel free to leave a comment here and I'll try my best to respond. Thanks!

that's so good. I get so frustrated by post that send to lock posts. At least if I know in advance they're locked I won't bother with them ^^

Sorry, so I guess this means locked comms are still okay, even if locked personal journals aren't? Can't say I'm too fond of that, since I still feel strongly that if you come to a public comm to post *anything* it should be unlocked. Period. But again, I'm still bitter about days past with forum snobs, so I have unpleasant memories of people trying to be exclusionary...

Yes, locked communities will still be permitted-- you don't need to compromise the privacy of your own journal, and it's a cinch to simply join and leave once you've found what you were looking for. I'm iffy about the ones that require you to apply for membership and jump through hoops to join, but I don't really think having to join a locked community with open membership would take all that much effort. :/ Forums are definitely annoying though, you're right, but it's hard to replicate that on Livejournal so I think it should be okay. XD
