It's really cool that you're going to start subbing! A fandom can never have too many subbers, I say (until they start fighting over projects??).
My suggestion for practice would be to NOT go with any of their variety shows, as they tend to talk over each other and/or very quickly. If you're just practicing, try interviews where they have to talk clearly and wait their turn. This way you can get a hang of things before taking on the monster that is 5 (well, usually 4 as Riida is a bit quiet) men talking over each other (it's harder than it looks).
Good luck, and I look forward to seeing your work in the future!
Thank, you for your advice. I actually am practicing on a VS Arashi video right now and the problem was that they were talking over each other! I think Riida is thinking of us when he keeps to himself :)
And I don't think the program I'm using can do multiple lines, and I just don't like the sub program.
Oh yeah, I just started practicing with the subtitle workshop. The only problem was that I don't know how to get multiple subtitles at a time because the boys talk over each other all the time!(silly boys)But thank you, it's good to know about the virtual dub.
was wondering... how do u encode the ass file into hardsubs(?)? (i just suck at encoding. lol.) i tried and a window pop appears saying that that VirtualDub requires video for window (VFW)codex to decompress video. Currently using Aegisub too. ^^

Date: 2009-02-09 07:38 pm (UTC)Aegisub or Sabbu tend to be the favorites for typesetting and timing.
.. I'm kind of a failure at encoding, but I'm pretty sure everyone is using VirtualDub for it. I'll let you take someone else's word on that :D
Sorry for the previous comment, but hey, maybe that will come in handy too, LOL (orz).
