[MOD] Community Questions/Reports

This post serves two primary purposes:

1) Providing a means of contacting the mod(s) with questions or concerns without the need of a journal.
2) Allowing community members to report entries linking to locked personal journals and communities.

☆ If you have something to ask a mod but would like to remain anonymous for any reason, you can do so here; just keep in mind that commenting anonymously would require you to either check back for a reply yourself or track your comment thread.

☆ If you're going through older entries via tags and happen upon posts whose links have since been locked but aren't tagged as such, feel free to comment here with links and I will take care of them accordingly. (If you have the time, it would be great if you can help out by tagging posts leading to locked communities with *locked (community) as you come across them as well!)

☆ One thing I want to emphasize since the title of this entry can be misleading: This post is not for people to ask questions about Arashi, their TV/magazine appearances and dates, or anything else that isn't related directly to the community!

I'm not sure if this is considered to be a report or a question or what, but I was wondering if some sort of announcement or rule or something could be made about checking the community before posting. Things have gotten really rediculous lately. It's one thing if the same thing shows up multiple times on my f-list because of crossposting, but it's another if they're all by different people in the same community within minutes of each other. I saw that you deleted some of them, but it seems to keep happening over and over, so maybe a reminder would help?

First off, sorry about the late reply! I looked over this comment briefly while I was in a hurry and it kind of slipped my mind for a bit.

To be honest, I'm a bit hesitant to make another mod post in the community so soon after the last one, which was only... maybe two weeks ago? I do think the number of posts by people who don't bother reading the rules before posting has increased again, but (for the time being, at least) I'm fine with just deleting rule-breaking posts when I catch them. Sorry if that wasn't quite the response you were looking for. ^^; If it ever does get out of hand, though, I will definitely do something about it.

hi , im not sure is this the correct place to ask for permission or not, but im just going to try. me and my few friends have discovered major reposting issues of our creations/ scans/translations and stuffs and i was wondering can i make an ..awareness post to arashi_on members about what is reposting for us?

That's actually a good question, because you're right, I don't think this has ever come up in the community before. XD But I think... instead of making a post solely about, say, people reposting your scans without permission, maybe include something to go along with it? Like new scans, or a new translation or something to keep it on topic, and then you can direct people to your journal where you can list out what you want to say, since it's not community issue in the strictest sense. Have you tried actually reading the rules themselves first before approaching me? Because you are breaking at least two of them.

☆ Don't repost over and over again if you find your entry deleted (though chances are if you're reposting, it means you aren't reading this anyway.); you will be banned after the third try.

☆ Fanworks such as graphics, fanart/videos and layouts/themes are no longer permitted, as there is a specific community created for this very purpose; please post them in iza_now instead.

I guess you haven't noticed this either, but the tag that you were using was also labelled "disused" for that very reason-- because gifs are also no longer allowed in the community.

Sure, go for it! I'm curious in the message itself too-- though it might very well be a Japanese fan posing as an authority, since I do think that if they were to start targeting fans uploading their content to Youtube, they'd probably contact Youtube directly about it and get the videos pulled directly, or at least send out mass emails in English. Why speak to you (or anyone else) in Japanese when most online fans are speaking English on an English site, right?

I'm not entirely sure if I understand what you're trying to ask, but you're free to advertise as long as you keep everything in one post. You're only allowed to do it once as a post in the community, but when I make the masterpost for Ohno's birthday, you're free to comment there again to add your links. Hope that helps!

There's always a message saying it's forbidden and no access but i've already joined this community.

I think before we can figure out what's wrong, you'll have to clarify a bit-- what do you mean by links? Do you mean the download links, as in the ones from Megaupload or Mediafire? Or do you mean the actual posts in the community?

If it's the former, I think what's most likely to be the problem is something to do with your computer, perhaps a firewall of some sort that blocks certain sites from loading. If that's the case, the situation's very much out of my hands since it has to do with something on your end. ^^;

If the links you clicked on actually leads to other personal journals or communities, it means they are locked and that you need to gain access there first before you can download. Most download/subbing communities are locked and do require joining separately (and in some cases, filling out applications for membership) first.

Yes, your post was deleted because you broke one of the rules. Only three images are allowed outside of a Livejournal cut, but you removed it entirely instead of fixing it. You can post again as long as you add <lj-cut> before your second image and </lj-cut> after the last image.

hmmm there arent many shops here that has those =( maybe some general shops but they dont specialize in JE. you can try Comics Connection (which are usually in big shopping malls) for JE pics, poster etc.

for DVDs you can try Laser Flair (also in big malls). I saw alot of JDoramas there! ^^ like The Quiz Show, My Girl etc (i haven been to one for mths so im not so updated ^^) they are of budget and not like those from HMVs which are EX but they have concerts and stuff..

hi, i'm in the middle of making a Baystorm Arashi guest video to be subbed by our subbers in our community, and i just need a couple of few more clips to put in, which is specifically: arashi doing backflips..like for concert or any performance. I am trying my best to research some in youtube but i couldn't find one..and i hope i can ask for members of this community to comment back and suggest specific performances for it...cause making the video with photoshop and other stuffs is really tedious already, we just want to share the secret talks in public and sub them with interesting videos that is related to what they are talking about...so i hope i can be allowed to post a question like this one here...thank you so much....

ohh.. let me try to help. actually that was also my problem before, i guess you're encountering problems like "forbidden" sites? something like that? if thats true, we do have the same problem (but as stated, that was my problem BEFORE) i guess the reason for that is you still have to join the specified community or sometimes it is f-locked profile of the person who posted it. (f-locked means for friends only) sometimes when they post it, they temporarily post it for public but after days they would change it to friends only/private. maybe thtas your problem.

maybe you should add that perosn first of its f-locked or join th specified community or something. its already indicated so i guess that wouldnt be a problem. hope that helps. :)

well i made a post of Arashi chibi pics, and i was waiting for approval or rejection of it....but i didn't received any...

I honestly obeyed the rules about reposting and telling that just a few of the photos are not mine and so i credit whoever posted it...and the majority came from my pictures of Arashi from Ashita no Kioku performance in 5x10 (since it's a picture i thought it'll count X_X)...

so i hope i can know what happened to it..thank you =)

**btw, the reason i was wondering was because, i saw posts come up a few hours already after i posted mine and still have not received any feedback if it was approved or denied in the first place...so thank you! ^_^ (crosses my fingers it gets approved)

The reason your post has not come up yet was because I was sleeping and acidae is in school currently. Some people have preapproved posting access to the community because they share often enough, so their posts do not have to join a moderation queue and post automatically. This is why your post still has not been approved while other people are posting.
