Help Needed!
Mar. 9th, 2009 01:49 amHello! I'm needing some assistance in a project for school. My school is attempting to put on a Japanese style festival for the community and we're wanting to introduce a lot of the different aspects of Japanese culture. I'm trying to get permission for a JMusic room to be allowed where we can play PVs from different Japanese artists. Now, I have a resource already for the female side of this, including Hello! Project, AKB48, and some others. I'm stuck on the male side. I want desperately to include Arashi and NewS. However, I don't have any good quality PVs of their songs to put onto a DVD to turn into the principal. I figured this would be a good place to go for help with this.
There are only a few requirements. It MUST be family friendly. In otherwords, a parent shouldn't have any issues with their 3-12 year old children seeing it. (DBSK's Mirotic as much as I love it couldn't be used based on hip thrusting, as well as C-ute's Massara Blue Jeans. Silly rules.) It also needs to be nice enough quality to go onto a DVD to be shown in a classroom on a tv.
I don't care who it is, or what song it is as long as it fits and will catch the attention of today's current 7-12 year olds! I was thinking about at least using
Happiness - Arashi
Love So Sweet - Arashi
Wish - Arashi
Weeek - NewS
I'm up for any other suggestions, and if you know where I can find good quality downloads of those to be able to use, please let me know.
I'm also considering adding in some Taiwanese and Korean such as S.H.E., Fahrenheit, Lollipop, Hey Girl, DBSK, and such. I have the DBSK video I want to use, just no resources for the others of those either. Thanks in advance for your help!
X Posted - Also, please feel free to spread this around to your friends and other groups and send them my way. Thanks! And if this wasn't posted in the right place, I'm so sorry! Please let me know and I'll move it! Thanks!

Date: 2009-03-09 07:06 am (UTC)Do you happen to know where I can find the good quality PVs to download to put on the file I'm turning in?

Date: 2009-03-09 07:09 am (UTC)Just curious about the DBSK video you're going to include-- is it Balloons by any chance? Because that was the first one to pop into my head. :)

Date: 2009-03-09 07:09 am (UTC)And for NEWS, maybe Hoshi wo Mezashite or Happy Birthday.
btw, here's my resource for NEWS PV's:

Date: 2009-03-09 07:15 am (UTC)I couldn't pick just one so 'weeeek' or 'sayaendo' for NEWS and 'we can make it!' or 'sakura sake' for Arashi. good luck with your project!

Date: 2009-03-09 07:24 am (UTC)I know this is not NEWS or Arashi, but may I also suggest V6's "Change the World" and "Take Me Higher", since the first song was used in Inuyasha, an anime which many may know, and the second one would help with Japanese culture since Ultraman Tiga (which it was used for) is pretty popular with kids.
Other than that the songs I would have recommended for Arashi are up here. I'm not sure if these vids are HQ but there are many here:

Date: 2009-03-09 07:29 am (UTC)How about Ohno's 'Kumorinochi, Kaisei'? It's pretty good and cute too.
HSJ's 'Dreams Come True'?
Another suggestion for female artist: 'Gake no Ue no Ponyo' by Ohashi Nozomi. It's for kids.

Date: 2009-03-09 07:32 am (UTC)i honestly think kotoba yori taisetsuna mono is a fantastic display of japanese suburbia, and i think that really ties in with the japanese culture aspect. pardon me for saying this but i think it's better for your theme than sakura sake or even happiness. just my two-cent's worth :)

Date: 2009-03-09 07:49 am (UTC)I also agree on Sayaendo and weeeek, very kid friendly.
Are you open to non-Arashi/NEWS/JE suggestions? I would suggest flumpools Hoshi ni Negai wo in that case. It's pretty. :D

Date: 2009-03-09 09:10 am (UTC)I also think that My Heart Draw a Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lozCGbqY9as&feature=related) by L'Arc~en~Ciel & Haru wo Ai Suru Hito (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf0x2bqu_CQ) by Glay are lovely songs. Um I don't know if the birds in my heart draws a dream are too scary >.> but I'll leave that up to you XD
I have some more suggestions; but I'm interested to know if translations would be given out to go along with the songs, or if this is purely pv based.

Date: 2009-03-09 09:37 am (UTC)oh and step and go. the effects in that pv are pretty cool.
i guess a good thing about their songs is that the lyrics are often about friendship and growing up instead of the usual bgr stuff. will you be putting subtitles to the pvs? the onlyarashifiles livejournal comm has karaoke versions of quite a few of the pvs (maybe all i'm not sure though). only thing is u'd prob have to get permission from the subbers first.

Date: 2009-03-09 12:53 pm (UTC)And then Choo Choo Train or Fly Away from Exile perhaps??
Kiseki from Greeeen and other Greeeen PVS are actually just plain normal for children to watch. There's one PV of greeeen actually that really suits for children, showing four kids dancing and singing in white background. But i really forgot the titles atm.
Pvs from HSJ like Dreams Come True also nice for children. I usually download from music_mind and jpop_uploads in LJ. You can check many songs there.

Date: 2009-03-09 01:27 pm (UTC)Sayaendou and WeeeeK are perfect choices for NEWS songs..
as for the others.. maybe Hey! Say! JUMP's Dreams Come True? i can upload it for you if you can't find them..
for Korean songs.. i think SuJu's songs will fit the children? or maybe SM Town's Summer/Winter songs?

Date: 2009-03-09 10:49 pm (UTC)For Arashi:
But Wish and Love so Sweet are the most kid-appealing, I think. :) They both have stories that people can understand without speaking the language! Also, I showed my 8 year old cuz Love So Sweet, and she speaks NO Japanese whatsoever, but she said she liked it! ^_^
I can think of a few:
-A.Ra.Shi, maybe?
-Typhoon generation?
-Sunrise Nippon is okay (more old school, but I like it).
There is also Hero, although it's not as entertaining, because there's not story, only singing. There's also Kaze no Mukou E. Again, all they do is stand and sing, tho.

Date: 2009-03-10 02:17 am (UTC)The rhythm is very good. It's an upbeat song too and it will definitely cheer you up. It's full of passion (you can exclude Oh-chan's expression xD). And you can somehow show them the fun of dancing ^_^
Just an opinion though~

Date: 2009-03-10 05:30 am (UTC)GReeeeN's High G.K. Low would be good too--the music video is a bunch of kids dancing. It's super fun.

Date: 2009-03-12 05:22 pm (UTC)And Japanese wise did anyone mention Arashi's Step and Go, its really catchy and bright colours so should grab attention.
Also Katori Shingo's - Shingo Mama no Oha Rock is pretty funny too
And are we not looking at Tackey and Tsubasa, know some of their moves sometimes but Venus, Yume Monogatari and Ho Summer are catchy too. I think all from Akira shock fansubs
And NEWS Baby be by Baby is really funky, theres not a PV but someone - Hichan made a PV for it from clips from shows and their old PVs. ---> http://aitamashii.livejournal.com/tag/news:+lyrics+%28unofficial%29
And UVERWorld's Shamrock is good but probably the PV wouldn't be too good...depends
Hope that helped. ^ ^
