Hello! I'm needing some assistance in a project for school. My school is attempting to put on a Japanese style festival for the community and we're wanting to introduce a lot of the different aspects of Japanese culture. I'm trying to get permission for a JMusic room to be allowed where we can play PVs from different Japanese artists. Now, I have a resource already for the female side of this, including Hello! Project, AKB48, and some others. I'm stuck on the male side. I want desperately to include Arashi and NewS. However, I don't have any good quality PVs of their songs to put onto a DVD to turn into the principal. I figured this would be a good place to go for help with this.

There are only a few requirements. It MUST be family friendly. In otherwords, a parent shouldn't have any issues with their 3-12 year old children seeing it. (DBSK's Mirotic as much as I love it couldn't be used based on hip thrusting, as well as C-ute's Massara Blue Jeans. Silly rules.) It also needs to be nice enough quality to go onto a DVD to be shown in a classroom on a tv.

I don't care who it is, or what song it is as long as it fits and will catch the attention of today's current 7-12 year olds! I was thinking about at least using

Happiness - Arashi
Love So Sweet - Arashi
Wish - Arashi
Weeek - NewS

I'm up for any other suggestions, and if you know where I can find good quality downloads of those to be able to use, please let me know.

I'm also considering adding in some Taiwanese and Korean such as S.H.E., Fahrenheit, Lollipop, Hey Girl, DBSK, and such. I have the DBSK video I want to use, just no resources for the others of those either. Thanks in advance for your help!

X Posted - Also, please feel free to spread this around to your friends and other groups and send them my way. Thanks! And if this wasn't posted in the right place, I'm so sorry! Please let me know and I'll move it! Thanks!

How about We can make it! or Sakura Sake? I'm not sure if kids might enjoy Happiness for the Ohmiya scene where they were pretending to stroke each other's faces, if they'd go ewww cooties at that type of thing or something. --then again, I don't know much about kids in general. XD

Sayaendou by NEWS might be good too, since it's all cartoons.

...good question XD I actually have no idea where to download them, because I downloaded all of mine ages ago, or whenever each PV was released for the later ones. Hopefully someone else in the community will be able to help though!

Just curious about the DBSK video you're going to include-- is it Balloons by any chance? Because that was the first one to pop into my head. :)

I also agree with We can make it!

And for NEWS, maybe Hoshi wo Mezashite or Happy Birthday.

btw, here's my resource for NEWS PV's:

lots of HQ here (http://sakuradanielle.livejournal.com/53081.html) :D

I couldn't pick just one so 'weeeek' or 'sayaendo' for NEWS and 'we can make it!' or 'sakura sake' for Arashi. good luck with your project!

These are great PV's! Happiness is sure to make anyone smile. ;)
I know this is not NEWS or Arashi, but may I also suggest V6's "Change the World" and "Take Me Higher", since the first song was used in Inuyasha, an anime which many may know, and the second one would help with Japanese culture since Ultraman Tiga (which it was used for) is pretty popular with kids.
Other than that the songs I would have recommended for Arashi are up here. I'm not sure if these vids are HQ but there are many here:

I'm not sure about 'Happiness' though. XD
How about Ohno's 'Kumorinochi, Kaisei'? It's pretty good and cute too.
HSJ's 'Dreams Come True'?
Another suggestion for female artist: 'Gake no Ue no Ponyo' by Ohashi Nozomi. It's for kids.

as far as i know Arashi's Wish is the kids-friendliest thing they have ever done, in my opinion, so i'm glad it's on your list. it's not available in HQ though, as far as i know.

i honestly think kotoba yori taisetsuna mono is a fantastic display of japanese suburbia, and i think that really ties in with the japanese culture aspect. pardon me for saying this but i think it's better for your theme than sakura sake or even happiness. just my two-cent's worth :)

I don't really know much about kids but the impression I get is that a lot of them are pretty "mature" these days, lol. I'm not really sure if the kids (especially the boys?) will enjoy all rainbows. It's probably not going to be too fun having someone go "ewww, that's so gay" ..

I second the SNSD suggestion. I adore those girls and I think most of their material are children friendly :)

oh yeah, you're right kids now are pretty mature.
besides sho's rap lyric is a bit explicit. i forgot abut that.

so, maybe we can make it. yeah, that's nice.

What about Tegomasu's Ai Ai Gasa? It's pretty much kid friendly and really sweet to watch.

I also agree on Sayaendo and weeeek, very kid friendly.

Are you open to non-Arashi/NEWS/JE suggestions? I would suggest flumpools Hoshi ni Negai wo in that case. It's pretty. :D

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this song XD I think Boku wa Kuma (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMeCacvpRNo&feature=related) by Utada Hikaru is perfect~

I also think that My Heart Draw a Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lozCGbqY9as&feature=related) by L'Arc~en~Ciel & Haru wo Ai Suru Hito (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf0x2bqu_CQ) by Glay are lovely songs. Um I don't know if the birds in my heart draws a dream are too scary >.> but I'll leave that up to you XD

I have some more suggestions; but I'm interested to know if translations would be given out to go along with the songs, or if this is purely pv based.

hadashi no mirai and nice na kokoriki are both filled with arashi crack and imo pretty kids safe.

oh and step and go. the effects in that pv are pretty cool.

i guess a good thing about their songs is that the lyrics are often about friendship and growing up instead of the usual bgr stuff. will you be putting subtitles to the pvs? the onlyarashifiles livejournal comm has karaoke versions of quite a few of the pvs (maybe all i'm not sure though). only thing is u'd prob have to get permission from the subbers first.

Heya! Having a JMusic room sounds pretty cool. I was looking at your song selection. While I adore the PV for Happiness, it might not be totally suitable since there is a section where Ohno and Nino are 'touching' each other. Hints of gayness there perhaps? I mean, that's from the pov of a teacher =)

I agree with 'hadashi no mirai' and 'nice na kokoriki' though!

I think PV from Ken Hirai-Popstar is catchy too for children.
And then Choo Choo Train or Fly Away from Exile perhaps??
Kiseki from Greeeen and other Greeeen PVS are actually just plain normal for children to watch. There's one PV of greeeen actually that really suits for children, showing four kids dancing and singing in white background. But i really forgot the titles atm.

Pvs from HSJ like Dreams Come True also nice for children. I usually download from music_mind and jpop_uploads in LJ. You can check many songs there.

From: [identity profile] beep2x.livejournal.com
i actually think Kaze no Mukou e will fits the children's taste too even though the PV is very simple =)
Sayaendou and WeeeeK are perfect choices for NEWS songs..
as for the others.. maybe Hey! Say! JUMP's Dreams Come True? i can upload it for you if you can't find them..
for Korean songs.. i think SuJu's songs will fit the children? or maybe SM Town's Summer/Winter songs?

I don't know if it's been suggested yet, but I think Kanjani8's "Wahaha" and "Sukiyanen, Osaka" PVs are both really cute and overall sort of funny, plus the songs are both really catchy. I don't know where you could find high quality videos for those, though, so sorry I can't help with that!

I think kids would find the PV to Baby Blue by Halcali adorable. I mean who doesn't. Two little girls dressed in shiny pink outfits dancing around with tons of bears. I'll try and track down the pv for you.

Okay...I got one. What about Asian Kung Fu's "After Dark" PV where the guy grows wings and goes through all these shenanigans of hiding it and then saves the construction worker in the end. I thought it was pretty good and kids will probably love the whole super hero type thing.

I really like Arashi's Fight Song PV it's filled with funny clips from C & D no Arashi. Or Hero, Beautiful Days Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi, Kaze no Mukou He (Nino Playing Guitar = <3)the new Believe PV (either versions) or Truth (Though I don't know how they would feel about the 'I take your life forever' part)

It looks like you've already got plenty of good suggestions for Johnny's related PVs, so just a quick aside - I'm not sure of the overall goal of your project, but if you're trying to be representative of "things that are in" in Japan, you might want to keep the Hello!Project and AKB48 pretty limited. As much as I love H!P, it's pretty much associated with crazy wota these days and isn't really popular. If anything, I'd suggest an older PV (Golden Era stuff like Koi no Dance Site/RR21 - I'm leaving out Love Machine because of the boob-rubbing during "nice body" and The Peace for the toilet scenes XD) or something by one of the anime tie-ins, like Buono. Same thing kind of goes for AKB48, but one PV from them might be good to sort of represent the Akihabara-kei culture - a Nakagawa Shoko video would accomplish the same :)

well seeing as how everyone has suggested enough JE i'd like to give my two cents in for the H!P Maybe Mini Moni would be appropiate sense they were centered for kids.

Here's some male singers.

CHEMISTRY - Kimi ga iru
oh heres an EXCELLENT one, M-flo ♥ CHEMISTRY - Now or Never
MONKEY MAJIK - Around the World
oh here's a JE no ones mentioned SMAP - Arigatou
Super Junior - HAPPINESS
Super Junior H - COOKING? COOKING!
Oh great JE one Tackey & Tsubasa - HO! Summer!
Wang lee Hom - W-H-Y maybe?
Jason & Lara - Say U Love Me The MV is very family friendly :D

Uh I'll come back if i think of anymore XD

Hum... yeah, like a few people mentioned: the whole "Ohmiya" thing might be offensive to people who might think they're just being gay. >.< And Kitto Daijobou ~ I think someone grabs someone's hips in it. *ahem* So just saying. If hip thrusting is out, probably that will be too.

For Arashi:

But Wish and Love so Sweet are the most kid-appealing, I think. :) They both have stories that people can understand without speaking the language! Also, I showed my 8 year old cuz Love So Sweet, and she speaks NO Japanese whatsoever, but she said she liked it! ^_^

I can think of a few:

-A.Ra.Shi, maybe?
-Typhoon generation?
-Sunrise Nippon is okay (more old school, but I like it).

There is also Hero, although it's not as entertaining, because there's not story, only singing. There's also Kaze no Mukou E. Again, all they do is stand and sing, tho.

I think no one have said this. What about A.Ra.Shi?
The rhythm is very good. It's an upbeat song too and it will definitely cheer you up. It's full of passion (you can exclude Oh-chan's expression xD). And you can somehow show them the fun of dancing ^_^
Just an opinion though~

Miso Soup (Tegomass) is pretty family friendly. Also, I like Kissing You by SNSD. Osaka Obaachan Rock by Kanjani8 is great fun too!

GReeeeN's High G.K. Low would be good too--the music video is a bunch of kids dancing. It's super fun.

If you want Fahrenheit songs as well maybe the one that that did together with S.H.E - Xin Wo, also Fahrenheits - Chao Xi Huan Ni the PVs should be fine but not sure what consitutes bad things now for children - you can find those at Only fahrenheit forums.
And Japanese wise did anyone mention Arashi's Step and Go, its really catchy and bright colours so should grab attention.
Also Katori Shingo's - Shingo Mama no Oha Rock is pretty funny too
And are we not looking at Tackey and Tsubasa, know some of their moves sometimes but Venus, Yume Monogatari and Ho Summer are catchy too. I think all from Akira shock fansubs
And NEWS Baby be by Baby is really funky, theres not a PV but someone - Hichan made a PV for it from clips from shows and their old PVs. ---> http://aitamashii.livejournal.com/tag/news:+lyrics+%28unofficial%29
And UVERWorld's Shamrock is good but probably the PV wouldn't be too good...depends
Hope that helped. ^ ^
