BookOff is really easy to find x] in any city, pretty much regardless of how big it is.
idk if it's the cheapest, though :p but I like BookOff XD

XD there were 149 in the Tokyo-to area, would you happen to have a specific part of Tokyo you'll be staying in? :3

i agree with book off . . . they can be found pretty much near any big (sometimes the not so big too) stations. they hve mangas and cds too.

if you're going to be searching for mangas it would be better if you know the publisher since they are arranged according to genre (shoujo, shounen, etc.) and then by publisher. book off also has the "pricey" shelves and the 100 yen shelves. check out the 100 yen shelves 1st. the quality may be a bit so so but it can't be beat for 100 yen a piece.

book off has cds too. they're generally arranged as "pricey" and marked down. so look at the marked down 1st. good thing there is they sometimes have the old cds, the ones no longer sold in the usual cd stores. they have concert dvds too but the region is different here so be careful.

i suggest asking the front desk of whatever place you are staying to get to the nearest bookoff.

have fun here.

Yes, Nakano is in Tokyo:
Nakano Broadway 2F – 4F, 5-12-15 Nakano, Nakano-ku, Tokyo

It's around 5-min walk from the north exit of Nakano station. From there, Mandarake is easy to find ^^ The doujinshi shop is located at the 2nd floor, section R.

Hope this helps ^^

You're welcome ^____^

When my friend and I went there, we only went to one doujinshi shop (we asked the people there and they said it's the only shop there that sells doujinshi... and I forgot the name of the shop *sorry* but it's not hard to find, promise ^^). And yeah, you can find yaoi stuff there ^__~

As for the 2nd hand items, I suggest TRIO 3 which is located at the 3rd floor. They sell pre-owned and sometimes hard-to-find JE goods (CDs included) :D

Hmm, how many days will you be staying there? Harajuku is a nice place to go to since one of the official JE shops is located there and lots of other unofficial shops that sell JE goods ^^ Visiting other famous tourist spots such as Tokyo Tower, Sensouji Temple in Asakusa, etc would be nice as well :D And oh, if you're a fan of HYD, visiting Yebisu Garden Place (http://www.flickr.com/photos/summerqueen/2908191039/) is a must - that's where Domyouji waited for Makino on their date :DDD

And if you want to visit Johnny's Family Club, it's located in Shibuya ^^
