Question about Utaban

Hello everyone,

I'm new on this fandom and I have a question. I know that Ohno always fights with Nakai on Utaban but actually the other MC always whispers something to Ohno. I just want to know how it began actually? Did Ohno actually start a fight with Nakai at early shows or does Ishibashi always whisper something to Ohno from the very beginning? Can someone enlighten me? Thank you..

They've been doing this since Arashi first appeared on Utaban. Keep in mind though they're not actually fighting, it's all staged for laughs.

I'm not actually sure how it all started. But the very first appearance... as in THE VERY FIRST... was pretty calm. :D

The first time I saw the "fight" is around 2004. But I'm sure it isn't the very first.

When Arashi visited Utaban 2007.09.06 they actually showed a VTR of all their fights, I'd suggest for you to check that episode out :) I think there's even a subbed version version out there.

From what i remember, they started back in 2002. But they're not actually "fighting" is all in the script XDD. Ans yes Ishibashi san is the one who tells Ohno what to say, though i did notice sometimes Ohno just says whatever he thinks or do whatever he wants. But all's good. XD

yeah that was an ep when nino wasn't there (i think he was abroad doing promos for Letters from Iwo Jima) and so they had a cardboard cut-out of him!!

yeah nakai was like, chasing ohno around the studio and almost managed to catch him, so he yelled out "i touched him" or something to that effect

Emm.. i think there wasn't any Ohno vs Nakai the first time they appeared..
It started in 2002 i think.. and even though it wasn't shown, i'm pretty sure Ishibashi-san told him to XD

And as far as i remember, i recall Nakai saying that the 'fight' exists so that at least Oh-chan will talk during the show.. 'cos if not he would just sit there, quietly, the whole air time.. hahaha.. then it grew to be what they are today, like a routine now.. hahaha.

I totally agree. It makes Ohno talk way more than he would otherwise. Plus it's awesome to see him cracking up all by himself when Taka-san is telling him stuff. XD

The first fight was in 2002, the episode where they're celebrating Ishibashi's birthday by playing the sushi game. They had to say 'xxx maki' 45 times but if it stops at the person before, that person doesn't get to eat any. As scripted, they kept stopping at Nakai so he didn't get to eat any sushi. He pretended to be upset and told the staff to skip Arashi's performance and play Smap's Shake since they ran out of time. In response, Ohno told him to grow up or something and the fight started since then.

i think once...some smap member even said that their fav parts of utaban are nakai vs ohno parts
but they do it on purpose!!! cos they know ppl S2 it...

I think however this kind of Ohno vs Nakai just for fun isnt it? Although almost all its not what Ohno wanna say but Ishibashi-san tells him to say! Ohno also says on his own.

I really enjoy reading all of them. I agree, the fights are always funny, that's why I wonder how it began :) Sometimes I find it funnier when Ishibashi told Ohno to say something but Ohno couldn't do that and just laughed

yup, their fights are epic and how it makes ohno talk...Ishibashi's a genius for coming up of this one. Pretty much everything is said already,so i'll just blur out how Nakai singled out Ohno and trapped him during the "Cook your bento" segment on May 3, 2009...Ohno was calling ishibashi to save him from nakai but ishibashi and the other four were busy with food..haha =p, they should've focused on that more! haha
