Arashi 2nd on Oricons!!! ><"

According to the report released on July 6th by Japan Oricon Chart, Tohoshinki’s single “Stand by U” which became the 2nd place before finally beating Japan idol Arashi and is crowned as the king of daily chart.

Released on July 1st on the same day as Tohoshinki, with more than 10,000 copies sold, Arashi was ranked first and Tohoshinki followed straight behind at second. However, thanks to the unfolding effect of Dome concert on July 4th and 5th, finally today Tohoshinki got his Daily Chart 1st.

SM Entertainment agency spokesperson said, “Today on Oricon Daily Chart, Tohoshinki is confirmed as No. 1. This is one opportunity to see how popular Tohoshinki in Japan.”

Tohoshinki’s single sales is rising to exceed 30,000 copies.

It's not a big deal, right? It's one daily chart and Arashi has sold more than THSK anyway. Plus, it's not even the weekly chart.

I wonder though, if they'll still be one on the daily chart tomorrow.

I don't really care, personally. Arashi's sales over the course of the week have also fluctuated a bit, they just don't have anything as big as a concert tour to affect it as much in terms of promotion; when their best of tour rolls around, I'm sure their album sales would rise too.

And, Stand by U is a good song anyway, so I'm happy for them. Not to mention even though DBSK's sales surpassed Arashi's on this particular day, they're still going to be first once the weekly rankings are out.

Just curious, but why would you be able to accept Arashi taking #2 after another JE group but not DBSK? Simply because they're Korean? I mean in both scenarios, Arashi is still not in the #1 spot, and that's what you can't stand seeing, no?

Tohoshinki, all of them are very talented singers and they work hard at that craft so I think it's well deserved because of that.

While I like Arashi as entertainers, I don't think they need to or can debut singles at number 1 all the time. Now debuting their album at #1, that's something to aim for right? That's extremely hard to do.

Arashi have been debuting all their singles at number 1 for years now, they are not likely to stop anytime soon. Same goes for their albums, it's not something they need to 'aim' for anymore. Just saying. =/

I don't mind that they beat Arashi on the charts. After all, it's unavoidable because of their Dome concert. It's good for DBSK and their fans and I'm happy for them. But I got kind of annoyed at some DBSK fans who were bashing Arashi for beating them in the charts for the first few days. I don't like the idea of those people who bashed Arashi being happy about DBSK being first. >>

It's not a big deal. I don't see an issue, whether it is about them "beating" Arashi in the daily ranking today or if Arashi is going to get top for the weekly.

I think your source is more of a fan-news site more than a legitimate news site, thus how do we know if the spokeperson really said that and stuff like king of oricon ? it would be better if you actually just put a screenshot of the charts instead of the this so-called news article to prevent any heated arguements.

Agreed :D and I also think Arashi fans should not think of this too seriously. Maybe this 'article' was just some biased opinion, a way to prove that Tohoshinki is doing good in Japan, but I don't think it will reflect negatively on Arashi in anyway, unless one would think otherwise.

I like both of them..so I'm glad they are beating Oricon chart at 1 and 2 places, I'm sure Arashi is glad with the success they have been having during this year and they comprehend that fans are a little poor right now after announced the tour, the Album and then the single...I'm not worried about their second place, I'm sure they will beat the charts with the 10th anniversary album :)!! I'm their fans. Both of them. Just for you know, in their weekend Dome days, Tohoshinki sold special deluxe edition of Stand By U with many bonus on it. We all know how many fans come to Dome right? For 2 days... 100 K and they boost their sale through that.

I'm sad to say that SM shouldn't be the one who proud with that. Avex is the one who raise Tohoshinki until they are in their position now. It's ridiculuous statement from SM that even for me as their fan, kinda not really appropriate.

Tohoshinki sold until today more than 180 K copies and Arashi, I believe 320 K. Arashi fans shouldn't be bothered with that. It's a fair competition ^^

It is fair competition. JE's been gaing ground because DBSK on M-Sta just proved that whatever conspiracy must be false, or had it been true, finally halted.

But we do have to admit that DBSK is pretty much the only non-JE boy group gaining momentum in Japan. It's only been half a year but their selling power increased by two-fold. To be frank, there's only two ways to go after this: better or worst sales. This could be their peak ability, or they'd break out like EXILE and have something more in store for us when they begin selling 500k-1M of albums.

I don't see this as a problem, seeing how I *think* DBSK is the only non-Johnny's band that is really big in Japan right now. Plus, they've been working really hard in Japan to earn this too.

Johnny's is the agency. JE is a recording label. So technically, Arashi is not a "JE group" since they belong to JStorm.

Seeing as how there's so much defending of DBSK in Arashi fandom (glad to see most people being rational over here),
it would be nice to see people defending Arashi in the DBSK and Kpop fandoms too. They (and JE/Jpop in general) get bashed there too often.

yeah, i agree with you. the things they say about johnny's, especially arashi, is really awful. each group is talented in their own ways, i dont see why fans should bash a group just because they are not as good as the other group in an area the other group is good at.

i'm happy for dbsk but the things those kpop fans are going to say about arashi after hearing this news, makes me sad.

isn't it hurt that JE's plans backfired? pfft not a big deal right? it's only a daily chart but if only they leave Tohoshinki alone Tohoshinki might win the first place for weekly but no, Arashi had to interfere. they should have move Everything to July 8 release instead of dropping Arashi's single the same day Toho had theirs. Tohoshinki announced the dates way way before Arashi did.

You do realise that Tegomass is releasing their single next week? And that another JE group is releasing their single the following week (the new debuting group)? Johnnys artistes don't release the same day.

And anytime after that would be too close to Arashi's BEST album to release Everything.

Tohoshinki releases so often, they are bound to run into Johnnys groups since there are so many of them.

So this band selling a deluxe single in Tokyo Dome, of course made fans buy it, i thought they would sell more though

there is no competition btw Arashi and this band in Japan, as there cant be competition in Korea.

Still, Arashi will get the 1st position for weekly sales, and i bet that also for monthly sales ^^

Eh! the reason for the boosting sale of Toho is their Dome concert last saturday ne!.DOME EFFECT..they sold another special editions,...Toho has many bonuses...and this single was already heavily promoted.
Avex release so much in this single.
