"Limited" doesn't mean official. There have been other unofficial books in the past that also called themselves "Limited." This from the same publisher as the previous Arashi no Nen book, and it's also not listed anywhere on the official site, despite coming out in less than a month.

It is unofficial. It was originally released back in May and this is a reprint. It's got a lot of pictures that you can find in the otakara and minimum series books. In fact, you can probably find all of the pictures in those books. Given that the first release of this book was the same day as the Crazy Moon single release and Arashi did nothing to promote it? It's absolutely unofficial.

Offical photobooks come with backstage pictures, new 'portrait' photos, and interviews/Q-and-As. They're generally released with a tour (as the LE of Arashi is Alive was) or in relation to a tour (Around Asia, which was released after and contained photos from that tour). They've also released in association with the Pikanchi movie (though if it was the first or the second, I don't know). They've never released one with an album and, given that the upcoming 'All the Best' LE comes with a forty-plus photobooklet, they're not this time either.

The book also would probably also have been named in conjunction with the tour (5x10) in some way instead of being named after an unofficial photobook released months ago. I'm fairly certain that this is an edited/repackaged reprint of the other Arashi no 10 nen book.

I'm very sorry but Arashi doesn't make a lot of photobooks and this isn't one of them. That's not to say that it's not a good book (it might very well be wonderful) or that the pictures are crap (they're probably pretty good) or that you won't enjoy it (heck, it's Arashi, enjoyment is pretty much a given); it's simply that this not an official Arashi/JE/J&A release. That in no way makes it bad.

In fact I am not much interested in Tour photobook in comparison with book as Arashi Goto.
If thing goes as you point out, it would be very bad for ones aiming to make profit from the precious year of Arashi

アラシゴト is official photobook. It is released in 2005.

It's an official release. It's got a ten-thousand word interview inside, too. I'm not sure if it was announced/promoted as I wasn't around at the time but I think I remember them talking about it in interview--they took a few of the pictures in there themselves.

I found this other photobook that was released back in May.

I'm not sure if the two will have the same pictures, although both will have 112 pages full-color photos and a CD. The one that'll be released in August does say limited 1000 release with luxurious binding and packaging.

If anybody who has the May version would like to share some scans for comparison later on, we will be able to verify. =D

Where'd you find that this photobook would also be 112 pages?
And the past photobook did not include a CD, although CDJapan first advertised it would.
I see that on this new photobook's page, it says it'll contain 1 disc, but because there isn't a real item description, I wouldn't count on it just yet.

The only thing different between the two seems to be the price thus far, but maybe that's due to the "luxurious binding and packaging". It's unofficial anyway, so I'm not ordering one :P

I just clicked on the link to the Japanese product description page. After comparing the description for both, that is all I can conclude. And in fact I was also thinking the extra 200g might just be the lux packaging since they claim to be limited 1000 release.

I will definitely check junenojun's site to see how good the pictures are. =D

im still decidin on whether to buy it or not...

im no expert on knowing what releases of johnnys are official, but...
this is suspicious... i compared it to the all the best cds, and the credit should be "Arashi (Artist)", not just "Arashi" [soo... official = "Arashi (Artist)", while unofficial= just "Arashi"?]; theres no info provided; it pops up less than 4 weeks (a month) before the expected release date for the preorder--i preordered the all the best cds about 8 weeks before the expected release date for the preorder.

i wish someone can confirm if this is official. im soo broke. i dont even know if i can now pay for my all the best cds... my wallet will be filled with ious if i preorder this (and i dont want to find out that an unofficial item [that doesnt support arashi] making me go into poverty...)

I think its unofficial, coz it released by the same produsen as photobook released in may.

But i had seen the one released in may, its good, it has paparazzi-style in it, coz almost in all pics arashi does not look at into camera. But it was a good photobook, where could u find (in official PB) Jun smokin or yawning? XD

but this one price almost 3times which release in may.
i must think twice to buy it >.<
