I think the difference is its not counted in the Japan charts and is not made in Japan. Personally I prefer buying the Japan version to support Arashi position on the local charts. The satisfaction is different.

From experience, the differences are:
- tracklisting on the back of the CD is in Chinese and English (instead of Japanese and English)
- extra piece of paper with the Chinese translation of the lyrics
- on the back on the CD are words that specify the CD is only for sale in Taiwan/HK and not for sale in Japan.
Everything else should be the same.

Overseas editions of Arashi CDs, either Korean or HK/TW versions are released by a licensed distributor and are manufactured in these countries, hence they are cheaper. In Korea, the CDs are released under the SM label and the SM logo is seen on the cover. In HK/TW, the CDs are released under the AVEX label and carry the Avex logo. They also come with Korean/Chinese translations of the lyrics booklet.

Personally, I prefer buying the Japanese editions because they count towards the Oricon charts and feel somehow more genuine. But if price is your concern, and you don't mind it being an overseas edition, then the overseas versions might just be for you because frankly, there is no quality difference, physically.

Yes. Content-wise...there is no difference between the overseas editions and the Japan ones.

I have heard that, for any buyer outside of Japan, purchasing Japan edition CDs through most of the online shops will not count to the local selling chart at all. Perhaps, the only online shop that counts to the chart would be Amazon...other than this, none will make changes to the chart. Anyway, Arashi's 5x10 is selling so well!! It is very likely to be in the top 5 of this year's best selling albums after first week!!!! Congrats!!

I bought their Crazy Moon Single Limited Edition when I was in Japan and the Regular Edition in Singapore because I wanted the stickers in the Regular Edition. HMV sold it for SGD$33! I totally regretted not buying it in Japan because I could have gotten it for around SGD$20.

I thought it'll be cheaper to buy the Japanese version.
