Any fans from NYC or Boston?
Aug. 21st, 2009 10:35 pmI lived in Boston but I traveled down to NYC (Flushing & Chinatown) quite often. I was wondering if anyone knows any good and cheap places from Boston or NYC that I can get Arashi's Japanese edition CDs and also magazines like WinkUp, Duet and such? Thank you so much <3

Date: 2009-08-22 02:51 am (UTC)Unfortunately, I don't know of any places that sell their albums in Japanese. You might want to try Tokyo Kid in Harvard Square. I saw V6 albums there once so there might be a possibility of them selling Arashi ones? You're probably better off buying them in New York, though.
As for magazines, Kotobukiya is closed but I've heard of two places that might have them. There's a new Japanese market in Brookline Village and the replacement for Kotobukiya is in Medford. I know they're not in Boston but they're pretty close.
I hope I helped...in a way? ^_^;;

B/c there's this huge japanese market called Mitsuwa,
and the bookstore next to it (Sanseido) is pretty useful!
Last time i was able to find CrazyMoon/AshitaNoKioku LE CD without even
expecting it! :)

Also, is the price the same? Like is there any extra cost than what I would actually get in Japan?

Date: 2009-08-22 06:46 am (UTC)Like a magazine that is 750 yen in Japan would be at least $10, I think. They do have conversion charts posted on the stands so you can see, and there is a little corner with old (fashion/news/manga/but no Johnny's) magazines at a discount.
