i cant play my arashi DL-ed vids!~

i actually cant watch the arashi (variety shows) vids i DL-ed,, it started when we reformatted the PC... though the media player is still there,, it can only read the songs... the videos, no,, just sounds.. gets? its like when im watching the vids, it seems like im just listening to it because there is no video present... i dont know why but before, i was able to watch it more than i wanted (no problem) i dont know what happened! GRR!~ jya, doshiyo?

You should download some codecs. My favorite is www.cccp-project.net/

It basically has all the major ones... in one! No need to search around... if it doesn't work after this then there is probably a bigger problem. Also you can try VLC player. If no videos work on my other player they always work on it.

It sounds like you just need to install a codec.
I recommend the K-lite codec pack. It's got everything you need. ^_^

I'm with what uniquelyobscure said, but want to throw the GOM player in as another option. It'll download any codec you're missing when it finds it doesn't have it, and I've never had a problem. It plays files my VLC wont. XD

I personally find that it is, yes. I'm sure others will have different opinions, but I have been around a number of the better known players. I stick to it (when I'm on a PC, since it's PC only *grumble*), just for the fact it plays all my stubborn files, and looks nice. :3

There's your problem. WMP's never worked for me, honestly. :/ Even with a codec pack, it wont play a number or files I've found thrown around in fandom.

I have never got around to trying GOM player, but I am gonna download it and try it out now. I wasn't aware of the codec part of it. That is great! I hated the old days of having to search on google.

i use the Mplayer OSX extended on the MAC, way better than vlc^^

for windows, I too recommend gom player^^

Try googling for and downloading the Combined Community Codec Pack. It solves most issues with avi videos, at least.

try kmplayer, it plays almost all video formats. and it will try to play a broken file as much as it can. ^_^

i had the same problems when i started hardcore downloading vids but VLC media player solved it ^^ and a few codecs ^^; mostly DivX because a lot of subbers use that to encode...and a few others people have mentioned ^^; i forgot all the ones ive downloaded because i did it all at once and it worked somehow so i didnt pay attention to what made it work ^^; but yeah, VLC kicks Window Media Players ass XD i use it for everything now (and it also takes away region codes when watching DVDs fromn other countries ^^ )

ok now the one I downloaded (the first suggestion) doesn't work anymore. It only worked like the first few days.
