[MOD] Moderated posting until further notice

Due to the actions of one particularly persistent sockpuppet intent on spamming the community with Webgains links, arashi_on will unfortunately have to undergo moderated posting until further notice.

This is actually my last resort, as I have deleted and banned multiple posts and sockpuppet accounts made by this same person for both the recent 5x10 All the Best Clips DVD and other previous releases. Contacting them via PM has been unsuccessful as well.

So really, if you want to find someone to hate on for this course of action, blame the owner of the following accounts:

This person's always been around, but this is the first time they started creating multiple accounts on the spot just to spam with their links. :\

i just saw one of the accounts post on another arashi community

clicking on this person's links can be avoided easily by just placing a mouse over the link and seeing where it leads...

Not that I can think of at the moment, but thanks for the sentiment! :)

Ideally, I would hope no one clicks on their links, but some fans don't realize the difference between a normal link and Webgains, or the fact that clicking on their links mean helping them earn money off unsuspecting people. And, even if they know what Webgains are, they might not be aware that such links are banned from the community. So I think until this dies down and the person stops what they're doing, moderated posting is pretty much the only way to go.

Hmm... that would be nice, but if they don't have rules banning the posting of Webgains links in their communities, it wouldn't really make a difference... :(

this is so annoying >.< theyre just trying to make money off of the real fans!! and that abcd user xposted to like every single arashi comm too including jun_daily, ohno_daily, etc etc so now on my f-page it shows up like 9839742847238 times >.< i wish there was something else we could do also:(

Unfortunately, it's usually the few bad apples that ruin the entire bunch. :/ But hopefully this won't last very long and the community can revert back to regular posting for everyone.

i hope you could do something too (like a friendly note, not really ban) to people posting news/legal links only to say "head over to my journal to view". communities are for sharing info/news not a place for advertising their personal ljs or their new layout.

I did contact all mods of ohno, sakurai, aiba, nino and jun_daily and let them know that this was getting bad. ~X( Hope that they did some move like wannatee_1984 did after contacting her. ~X(

Kamichan has nothing to do with that... He actually reported to me about some real webgain stuff on the community so that I could delete those, and caught one of those fake accounts' affiliate IDs and reported it to webgains since it's people who use those links wrong that give bad name to people who use affiliate programs according to rules and manners like Kami.

Webgains links work like Linkbucks, another pay-per-click site. You 'affliate' yourself with companies and advertise with links generated by Webgains, and you get paid for every click by other people on those links. Hope that helps!

One of those accounts tried that on hey_say too so had it banned... But one of my friends reported that person's affiliate ID to Webgains since they were pissed about that kind of behaviour, so let's see if that helps any with that...

Another fake account created under the name of ryochandesu. I just had to make all the rest of my communities into moderated membership because after denying access to my HSJ community they started moving to the other comms I mod!!
