Masaki...

Jun called Aiba as Masaki in one of their show, and I want to watch it again since Jun rarely call Aiba; Masaki, but the problem is I don't remember from which show..

Can anyone help me with this..

didnt even know that Matsumoto has called him 'Masaki' (isnt it unusual for a kohai to call the sempai by the first name? - aiba is older so he is the sempai, right?? @.@)

If we talk about senpai or kohai, the one who enter JE first is Jun, Aiba is the last one joined JE among arashi.

from what i know, jun calls ohno without honorifics...they even joke that ohno is the one who calls jun with honorifics even he's the older...it's because they have a close relationship that they don't mind who's the sempai... :B

even if Sho the kouhai but he have call Oh-chan as Satoshi before so within Arashi i dun really think they care that much about honorific name bcoz they are so close with each other^^

Hmmm... I might be mistaken, but I think it once happened in D no Arashi. The one with Kaba-chan when they had all those alarm clocks and tried to find the one that's ringing. When it was Aiba's turn Jun said something like: You can do it Masaki...

I don't have the episode anymore, so I can't verify it... I hope it's not just my memory playing tricks on me. xD


It's actually not all that special, though. It happens quite often, even amongst different groups. ^.^

IMO i think all of them call each other by given names off-screen?

i mean i will call my fren by their given name ive been working with them for more than 10 yrs etc...Lol

i think its jus on camera tat they call each other with kun or san..guess its more for formalities..

they've been together for so long that i think they call each other by their given name. i recently rewatched 24hr TV from last year and jun called nino, Kazu. i don't think formalities existed in arashi, haha.

I kind of disagree with a lot of people on here. In Japan, it's not unusual to call people by their last names, even if you're close to that person. Because I mean, they all call him Aiba-chan, so they're obviously not being at all formal if they're using -chan with him. I think they just sometimes, for no reason or just to mess around, call each other by names that they don't normally call each other, like calling him Kazu instead of Nino, or Satoshi instead of Ohno. They have kind of a lot of nicknames for each other, really. Especially Ohno, lol.

Basically, Arashi is all around the same age, and they really don't care about the senpai/kouhai thing at all either, so I really think that it's just more of what they choose to call each other than anything else.
