Today was release of TV audience ratings with drama series starring popular group ARASHI Aiba Masaki "My Girl" drama recording an average rating of 9.6% ( Kanto area). Also in the newsreport, the 1st episode of TBS drama JIN with initial viewership rating of 16.5% which was aired with a 2hr SP last Sunday.

I was just reading up on this, and was a little disappointed. It's not terrible, considering the time-slot of the drama... but I was at least expecting something around what Uta no Oniisan got (ie not a single episode fell below 10%). Anyhow! I thought it was a decent first episode. Aiba's acting was surprisingly strong and though it was a little stagnant, I think they gave the story room to grow. I adore the actress who plays Koharu! She was phenomenal.

It's okay for the time slot, isn't it? I mean even Smile fluctuated a bit (I know it was in a different time slot tho). Oh well. I loved the first eppy and I wish my viewership counted. >.<

It's consistent with the first-week ratings of other dramas that have aired in that timeslot this year so it's no cause for worry.

ahh...i am so relieved to read this... :D coz just like what arisan said, Uta no Oniisan didn't have a viewershp rating below 10%...i hope it'll not get lower than that... :D

Aw, don't put too much stock in live television ratings. I hope it won't decrease either but we don't know how many more thousands watch it via DVR, their cell phones or on the internet so yeah. :)

given the time spot isn't that actually really good? if i remember correctly a number of shows get around 4-7 at that time so yeah...

but it doesn't matter... it's an awesome drama! *wishes for a dvd box*

There was so much TV promotion and advertisement for JIN so I'm not surprised it's doing well rating wise. Even I tuned in after seeing all the promo for this drama.

I think My Girl's rating is decent for its late time slot. Let's hope the rating stay strong or get better.

I have watched the first episode and certain parts do seem awkward to me. I can't pinpoint on what they are, whether it is the acting, directing or editing... Having said that, I really enjoyed the first episode and it made me tear a little bit hehe...

I am sooooooo looking forward to the 2nd episode.

Yabai!I am expecting of at least more 10% rating too, but i think it cannot be helped because of the late time slot. Can they just put it on better time slot?hehe. Eniweis the drama is definitely good. I hope the rating will improve with the upcoming eps.

The time slot matters a lot, so the rating last week was quiet good. I just hope that it won't go down this week. Nice job for Aiba and the rest of the cast and staff. And thanks for the info.^^,

Yes, same here. I thought aiba-chan really did great on the first ep. it was very touching. -- not being biased here. it's good.

It's a bit disappointing considering that there was so much hype about the drama before the 1 st ep. For a drama which does not get a nice time slot, almost 10% is good enough but for the one which is known as "Arashi no Aiba Masaki's first drama", it's actually not a bright beginning!

On the other hand, Aiba's acting was surprisingly good! There was awkwardness here&there but overall, he got the character and gradually managed to act natural towards the end of the ep. With this and Momoka's superb performance, there IS hope for the rating to get higher! And the story itself is sweet so yeah, this week's result will be better, I'm sure!
