arashi_onHello! I was wondering this today:
I know that Ninomiya is musically talented and can play the guitar and piano, but I was wondering if any of the other Arashi members can play any instruments. Have they ever performed any songs either for a CD or live? Also, I know Sho writes the lyrics to his rap sections, but does he write lyrics to any other songs? How about the other members?

You have Niji and Kako (VTR) for piano, on acoustic guitar he also did Yume and Kako, I think, and he's done both Kotoba Yoro Taisetsu na mono and Tell Me What You Wanna Be on electric guitar. Sho-chan played piano for Blue in the 2003 concert and everyone played drums for their very first concert. You might wanna check out their first concert to see what instruments they each played.

And I'm pretty sure he learnt Guitar initally just because of his character in Kiiro Namida. You can see him playing Harmonica on one of his solos though. Maybe more? I can't think of examples XD
You most often see Nino playing, Niji is his most infamous on Piano. He also plays acoustic for Yume and Kako and electric for his recent solo of Kotoba Yori taisetsu na mono and for Tell me what you wanna be. If you check out the Mago Mago Arashi, the ones with Nino in usually end with him singing covers and playing them on the guitar for the grandparents he visits. There are also clips of him around on news shows and the like playing guitar. Oh! And the PV for Kaze no Mukoe e.
I can't recall really SEEING Sho play but I've heard he's supposed to be really good. Same with Ohno and Jun. Though if you can, check out bits from their first concert. Wait! Sho played Piano whilst Nino played guitar during Natsu, Ninos solo in their first con (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok678DNsehE) =D
Sho has written the rap for almost every Arashi song, there are just a few exceptions. Most of what he's written haven't been offically released, though he did write Green (with Nino), that they did for Eco week this year, and a bunch of songs that he wrote and aired on his old radio show, Sho beat which are floating around. He also wrote his solo Anti Anti/Unti Unti and worked with Nino on Sketch.
Nino tends to be the song writer of the group, as with things like Fight Song and 5 x 10 the other members give him their thoughts and he comes up with the lyrics. He's written a fair few songs and done several of his solos like Gimmick Game and Niji.
Jun, Ohno and Aiba have a lot less imput into the songs but I think occasionally they do bits for their solos. I think Jun wrote the lyrics to La Familia? Ahh I forget now.
Ohno doesn't do much musically, but he does choreograph some of their dances ^_^

Date: 2009-10-21 02:15 am (UTC)Sho-chan played piano in the concert too, ne but if you want to see more of him playing, he played in a drama on 2007, "Yamada Tarou no Monogatari" also, in the first episode, he actually practiced really hard to play that song. It was a really nice song.
We can also see Nino plays piano and guitar in the concerts too. ^^
Oh-chan and Jun, I don't think they played anything, or at least not as far as I know.
Aiba-chan, can play sax before he was hospitalized but he can also played guitar and harmonica ^^

It also mentioned that Sho played not only the piano and trombone but also the guitar. I guess the guitar-playing was for a unit called Zeus with him, Ohno (vocals), Tsubasa (also guitar) and a former junior named Yuki (bass). But I'm only guessing and assuming based on what little Japanese I can read so I could be wrong. :P
Jun also co-wrote his solo "Naked" in the Dream-A-Live album under the penname "Jun", I believe. But the lyricists of the group are really just mainly Sho and Nino.
