I currently have the All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009 DVD bought from YesAsia...

However I was on Ebay and noticed that a seller also sells the DVD but at an insanely reduced fee (less than 20$ CDN!! vs. the 60$ CDN!!) AND it's also a 0 region code (region free vs. region 2)

Is it too good to be true? I had an incident where I bought the 0 region code of the Arashi TIME DVD concert and the image was so horrible and pixilated...

And I personally do not a repeat incident...

Is there anyone whom has already purchased the DVD from that Ebay user? (Yes I know the seller has positive feedback, but then again so did the seller who sold me the TIME DVD)

And I don't want a bootleg! >___<;;

I love Arashi enough to spend my hard earned cash! <3

The official releases are never in region 0; even the Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korean versions are always in region 3. It's pretty safe to say that the seller(s) you've seen were selling bootleg copies, unfortunately. :(

I think what he/she/they sold is a piracy, and its better, so much better, not to buy piracy.
if there's a fans that cant afford to buy the original japan version or other version (korea or HK that much cheaper), then its better to go download from the internet, coz there are so many fans that sharing arashi files.
So, although the seller has a good reputation, buy piracy is not wise decision if we consider ourself as a real fans.

I actually have bought an Arashi dvd, well two from two different sellers, and I mean it comes in a case and all that, but the quality of the dvd I dont think its 100%, but it was only $15 and it is definitely good enough to watch. Perhaps its about 85-90 percent quality? Not that bad really, a very nicely made dvd rip perhaps?

You're better off making your own DVD from files you've downloaded. That way pirates don't get paid for stealing stuff.

I wouldn't buy it. You're definitely looking at a bootleg; there aren't any region 0 releases for these products.

It's definitely a pirated version. The official overseas versions of All the Best DVD(TW/HK/K) have not been released yet.
Also, awhile ago I stupidly bought a cheap version of the 2006 AAA DVD on eBay (even though the seller had positive feedback), and yes, it was a crappy copy with the 2 discs crammed into 1 disc.

I wouldn't buy it, because if it's pirated then I might as well get it from Chinatown down here in Sydney at the city :D Have you got the link to it?

Sellers have positive feedback because they get the goods there on time and/or because they've shipped out exactly what they told the seller that they would. It doesn't mean they're legit sellers. It just means they're good at selling.

If you've got the DVD already there are a few things you can do:
1) Look for a region free DVD player - they won't advertise that they're region free but a lot of cheaper DVD players will be anyway.
2) Type your DVD make and code into google along with something like "region unlock" - there are a lot of unlock codes you can type on your DVD remote out there so your normal DVD players will play any region.
3) Rip the DVD to your comp - there are programs that should allow you to do this even if your DVD drive is a different region
4) Make your own DVD out of the files you've downloaded/ripped.

There are so many ways you can avoid paying pirates. *hugs* Good luck!

PS DVD region coding should be abolished. It is utterly useless nowadays other than to give pirates something else to do. It also gives people a super-good excuse to download DVD rips - and I don't blame them!

What system are you running on your computer? Windows? Mac? What version?

PS Region coding worked back when technology couldn't pull DVDs to pieces. Now it's useless and doesn't protect DVDs anyway. Another problem, if I buy a perfectly legit DVD when I'm in Japan, why can't I play it when I go to Australia? It's bullshit. *hugs*

Ok here's a list of things I've come up with and what they do. (I might make a more official post for this after seeing what the mods have to say)

DVDshrink (http://www.dvdshrink.org/) - (Windows) Lets you rip your discs and back them up (region-free style)
DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/) - (Windows) Pulls the files straight off the disc (I used to use this one a lot on my Windows machine)
MacTheRipper (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14414) - (Mac) Pulls the files straight off your disc ready to burn onto your own, region free DVD
Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/) - Let's you rip your DVD files into nice avi and mp4 files. (But I've had a little difficulty with region codes with this one. I advise using one of the above programs first then changing those files into what you want with this.)

Hope this helps!

I don't know if this will be useful to you, but if you install VLC media player on your computer, you will be able to watch different region DVDs without having to change the region code on your computer.
Alternatively, google the model/make of your DVD player and see if you can find a way to unlock the region restriction.
Both of the above worked for me, so hopefully it'll help you play your Arashi DVD too!

Hmm I have VLC but it doesn't seem to working properly. =/ It plays the DVD but the video is bad and disrupted by these green lines all across the screen. It plays fine on my DVD player though. =o

i'm from Malaysia and here is Region 3. But i buy Region 2 for Arashi DVDs and i simply change the region setting of my laptop's DVD drive to Region 2 because i never use it to play DVD of other region (Arashi's DVDs are the only original DVD i have).

Besides, i have a region-free DVD player at home so if i want to play non-Arashi DVDs which aren't Region 2, i can always use that player.
