Yoshitomo Nara-san’s blog updated 19 Dec. I was heading for Nagoya at Tomei highway. I was eating steamed meat bun at Ebina rest stop. I received a call from Ohno-kun. I said “I’m eating steamed meat bun.” “I ate steamed meat bun in Ebina yesterday!” what a coincidence! We wanted to have drink last night but as his filming get prolonged we coulnd’t meet. But I didn’t know it was Ebina. It was surprising with such a coincidence. I think we will have long term relationships.
The television, <Satsohi Ohno of Arashi dark skinned… Members pointed out Ohno thunder out off the beam> Press conference of “42nd Oricon yearly ranking 2009” took place . Arashi got 4 prizes and 5 attended. At ceremony Masaki Aiba, Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai, Kazunari Ninomiya received each division’s trophy. Sakurai says “ I can’t believe it. Since this morning staffs around us seems so pleased so I was happy about it.” Then review the year. “For us it was milestone year of 10^th anniversary. So many people cerebrated us and supported us. It was year I feel happiness. When we create music we don’t do for record. We do just thinking reaching to people to listen and watch. I’m happy that the record was followed after.” Ninomiya asked about ambitions of 10^th year. “we are not group who jump up, rather step up. So I hope to make step by step like Arashi in future too.” Matsumoto “As I always want to have a new experience. It’s all about how I can enjoy the things in front of me one by one. As we always enjoy to do 5 together. So we don’t break that and we just keep our pace. I wan to do new matters too.” Each talks their enthusiasms that feel like faith of Arashi. 5 shows serious face at press conference but in reversal each member’s feed busted at interview. So what Arashi feel same way was transmitted to us. Sakurai asked about goal of future. S: it was milestone year we turned 10^th anniversary. So many people cerebrated us and supported us. It was year I feel pleasure. We want to do our best to become a group that all of fans can be pleased, O: we want to continue to sing tune Arashi-ish and also we try to sing the tune that betray the expectation in good sense, we wan to sing various long in future. A: As the things we have done one by one carefully so I wan to make step by step next year too certainly…Let’s do every body! (then he look at other members, but others seems stumped by his throw words. A: well, well, Arashi is 5 tougher!. N: As he gets in high spirits he doesn’t know what he’s doing. (grin) I think we are a group who jump up rather a group make step up. I feel happy if we do the matter in front of us one by one just like Arashi. But if you don’t notice you don’t feel beautiful sky. When we do the show we do it to enjoy it. I realize it when I see others. I also have time I’m in low spirits. But when I’m in high spirits with friends I enjoy anything. / info: music station on 25, new-year’s eve Kohaku. It’s 60^th amazing, it’s chanchanko (padded sleeveless kimono jacket) it’s 60^th birthday (in Japan cerebrate with red chanchanko by tradition) we 10 year old do the best too. And countdown concert too. Please look forward to it. / next week is Christmas. Hope you enjoy nice Christmas. Actually we are not Christian. SO for us it’s just like big holiday to enjoy like Golden week… I wonder why I said such a thing that makes you low spirits….

I hope Ohno's friendship with Nara encourages his artistic creativity and ambition and lessens his obsession in fishing. It is great that Ohno has met someone who can be a mentor in art as he has basically been self-taught.

Yay for Arashi being formally awarded as this year's top earning artists in music. They deserve everything they are reaping and here's to a comparable 11th year. As Nino and Sho already have major projects planned for the year, I hope that Jun, Ohno and Aiba do too.

Wow, I had no clue that Ohno was friends with Nara. I just finished my final paper for my BA on Yoshitomo Nara's works! I think it's amazing how people you wouldn't ordinarily think be friends come together. This completely made my day.
