Hello arashi_on, I am one of the maintainers of aramatheydidnt and I would like to invite you all to join us. We are a Japanese entertainment news community dedicated to sharing the latest news! I don't think we have enough Arashi fans to share Arashi related news, so all of you are welcome to do so. The purpose of the community is to have everyone submitting posts, so don't be shy and share the Arashi love. Today, we are having our weekly Free For All which is a great opportunity for you to meet other members and share your favorite Arashi (and other artists you like) pictures, animations, videos, etc. So come join us at aramatheydidnt! I've been lurking arama for a while, and it's a good place to get j-media news, as well as see the unbiased opinions of non-fans on Arashi related news (though I can tell arama is getting sick of Arashi).
'Ganbatte!' comments for Arashi are nice, but seeing the non-fan critique is good too.

I agree with all the past comments...it's nice to see comments by non-Arashi fans since we're a pretty biased bunch (hahaha...can you blame us?) but I think arama's tired of hearing about Arashi. What a nice invitation though!

It's nice of you to invite us. But I have been to your community before, and arashi posts seem to be unwelcomed. Some of your members just love to insult our boys and there are actually few arashi articles there. but because there are many who posted oricon ranking and other polls and arashi happen to be on them, they just keep saying that arashi fans have been posting(which isn't true) and insult us. and yet, no one really says anything when those useless random video posts of some KOREAN grp are being posted. Is arama turning korean?

Insults are not opinions and people who do it are warned and sometimes banned from the community. However, it is impossible to catch every single insult, so we really need members to report if they see anything. If you did the moderators would take care of them and the Arashi posts wouldn't be so negative.

And no, arama is not turning Korean. If you are referring to Tohoshinki (and/or BoA) I apologize, but I have gone through this so many times that I'm tired of explaining why we allow posts about them. Regardless, Tohoshinki news in arama is not enough to question whether arama is turning Korean.

i agree with this statement.

dear mod, if you would please read carefully...i said "useless random video posts". i know, like many people said, some of the korean groups are having activities in japan, so it's natural to post their "activities in japan news". but let's say, tohoshinki, if someone posts a youtube video of them performing "stand by you" on music station yesterday. then make another separate post of them performing "stand by you" again on hey hey hey. i hope you would agree that it's redundant, right? i thought you said arama is a news community? so may i ask how is these separate posts news?

but apparently, once arashi news made it to arama, there's been tons of negative comments, especially those coming from the korean grp fans. i don't get why is there such a huge difference in treatment? your members took it well/choose to ignore those random video posts but abusive to us when we posted actual news(and it wasn't some random video posts...)?

are u sure your community welcomes us? because there's only so much that fans can take in regards to insults directed at their idols and arashi is a peace-loving group, so are most of the fans (excluding those that only know how to call others retarded and not reflecting upon themselves...). that's why we thought it would be better for us not to post arashi news there, in case the fans couldn't take the insults anymore and conflicts occur...

Honestly some fans need to grow up. The negative comments made towards arashi are hardly rude and there is ALWAYS more positive ones. How the hell do you expect a community like arama, which has people that are fans of MANY different types of j-entertainment to all like arashi or JE in general? People will have different opinions DEAL WITH IT.

Oh and to the person who mentioned arama is turning korean...tohoshinki and big bang are doing Japanese stuff so it relates to Japanese entertainment how hard is that to understand?

There was an arama member who said that s/he hated Arashi's music and the fans took it really well. People here are probably pointing out to members who complain that there are Arashi articles every two days or so while their fandom bombards the community with articles almost everyday.

It isn't wrong to not like Arashi. I don't think anyone is that illogical. XDDD Personally, I am not offended because they are NON-FANS. But commenting that we spam arama with Arashi news shows immaturity certainly not on our part.

But probably 1 in 10 comments is a complaint about too many Arashi news, and they should be disregarded. People have the option to scroll down and if they are bothered they can just post other celebrity news. It's their problem if they choose to read and if they leave nasty comments they will be warned. As long as no rules are broken, and I don't recall putting a limit on Arashi posts, you can, and I encourage you, to post a much as you want. The praises from Arashi fans will be far superior to Arashi haters.

no one is expecting everyone to like arashi or JE in general. Non-fans are ok. but baseless insults are not.

But who would want to post news regarding their fav knowing that they'll just get insulted by some haters?

and i believe the poster above said "useless random video posts". Sure, those 2 groups are having activities in japan, so? does it make it ok for their fans to post a youtube video every other day to show some of their previous performance? or for example, a post showing ALL the FNS posts including those 2 groups that you mention and in addition, a separate one just for some korean groups? Do we even have to know every single thing of those 2 korean groups that's not even news-worthy, like for example, what they eat for breakfast and stuff?

it's ok to post the 2 groups' ACTIVITIES news in JAPAN, but there are just so many unrelated posts regarding them and you can see from the community that it is turning korean there. While people who posted some arashi news that actually made it to the newspaper gets negative responses.

so until the maintainers know how to moderate and filter out useless posts like those, arama is going to sooner or later, be full of junk posts that aren't even considered news.

I have stopped watching arama a while ago and haven't seen any of the recent Arashi posts, but seriously, there's a difference between "not having the same opinion" and posting wank-stirring comments, which generally isn't a rarity over at arama. The place isn't what I'd call "unbiased" either.

Last month, some arama members are complaining that there are too many Arashi-related news. XDDD We don't want to annoy non-fans by adding more news. Of course they have the option to just scroll down, but... *shrugs*

I have been reading ONTD for some time now so I'm used to the tone of some comments. If you happen to be an overprotective and sensitive fan, that's a different matter. (^_~)

Well Arashi is one of the most popular groups in Japan right now so of course there will be a lot of posts about them XD

im already a member in Arama, u might be familiar w/ me since i love roaming around there before, im almost everyday there but now i lessen my comment boards since I mostly hate people there. they think Arashi is too much nuisance there but the fact is we have "moderate" posting...I never get the too much complained about Arashi post since its a Japanese ent. comm. anyway, its not Arashi's fault if they're in news everyday...
I understand that not all will like Arashii but the point is...its not a comment based anymore..Its an *insult" already. hope u dont mind. Actually there are too much Arashi news everyday but Arashi fans just tend not to post it anymore u know....envious arama people.

I agree, it's not Arashi's fault there are so many posts about them, just like it's not the fans fault if they share them. People who are bothered have the option of not looking/reading, if they leave nasty comments they will be warned and potentially banned.

Dear Arama mod, I'm sorry for those comments harshly and unfairly judging your moderating skills. I'm not blind, I've read many antiArashi comments, but since it's a multifandom community I don't think cases like those can be avoided. Stupid people happen and as we can see in Tohoshinki related posts, some of them are Arashi fans. This senseless conflict is both sides fault, not just one.

BTW I sure as hell do not think Arama is turning Korean (God, why does it sound like an insult nowadays?).

I love arama! I haven't joined because I know that I would end up making ridiculously long comments that would annoy everyone. But I just wanted to let you know that I do love your community.

I can get what some are saying about the wank, but really, this is the internet. It would be near impossible to make everyone full of sweetness and light. And other than a few harsh comments here and there Arama doesn't even have all that much wank*.

* My opinion on this may be skewed from frequenting news sites (not NEWS but the actual news) that are troll-tastic (and some of the worst comments are even serious!) but I don't think so.

Like the others have said before me, we don't mind that people don't like Arashi and criticize them. Nobody is that naive to think the internet is all sweetness and light. Or that everyone will embrace Arashi.

We were accused by some members of spamming the community with Arashi news when we are not. Many of us chose to ignore these comments. We are in no way harassing the arama mods to hunt them down. Just expressing our thoughts here in this community.

I have been following ohnotheydidnt for almost two years now and clearly have an idea what wanking/trolling is. Even with the endless amounts of, for example, Twilight news being put up there, no one's accusing anyone of spamming ONTD.

They can put up or deal with news about their fandom, but we cannot? That is the issue we are discussing about, not the wank towards Arashi.
