[identity profile] suparashi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] arashi_on
So, I'm going to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Guangzhou for a month and I'll be leaving tomorrow. I was going to post an entry like this earlier but I forgot >.<

Can anyone please tell me where I can buy Arashi goods in these three places? For example, posters and stuff; just any kind of Arashi goods is fine with me. ^-^

This would really really help me because I don't know where to get these things at all! So if anyone knows please do tell me(details would be greatly appreciated!) as soon as possible because I'll be leaving soon and there'll be no internet on the plane so yeah and I don't know when I'll be able to get to use the internet.

Thanks in advance! ;) So if anyone even knows the address please do help me! Thank you so much again in advance! ;D

I appreciate any kind of help anyone can provide me. Thanks for the third time xDD Because I really want Arashi goods!(I promised my best friend that I'll get her lots of goodies as a goodbye gift so I really wanna keep my promise! That's probably why I'm so anxious and worried about this. We won't get to see each other much anymore so help us?? ;D)

PS. Mods, if I did anything wrong please inform me and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible!

From what I know of JE stuff, don't mean to offend anyone but 99% of the JE stuff in Mainland china (you need to becareful of JE stuff in HK too because of the easy shipping access) are not the original, even the cover and the inside looks 100% identical. If it looks real and cheap, then 99.99999% not original (even if it may be sold in a "reputable" shop and they swear on their past 18 generations that it is real). The only time it may be less expensive is when it is on clearance. Even so, it will the same as a regular price of "original looking" cheap stuff. Real JE stuff are NEVER cheap. Just my two cents, I just don't want you to believe you got a 100% original and later found out it is not so.

well im pretty sure i can different unoriginal and original stuff in china cause im used to go shopping there, so im pretty good and saying if its original or not.
the cds were a lot cheaper then injapan, because its licensed for chinese people, and chinese people earn the hell less money then here in wester county or in japan (im taking about the normal average people)...so the cds cost like 40yuan, which is like 4euro, yeah megacheap, but when you rsally want to buy the unoriginal stuff it costs like 5yuan, so there you can seee the difference.
i also bought some unofficial jemags, and in there were shop ads for jestuff original imported from japan, and these costedmthe same as if you buy it in japan.

you know its not that china only sell stolen stuff, they have alot and i admit i often like to huy it, esp. for cdramas.
but if you are there often its pretty easy to tell the difference.

if you have a look on these cds you'll know.

The thing is there were never any official JE CDs licensed for mainland China. If you have friends who are JE fan club member, they can help you verify that. The only officially licensed JE CDs for certain groups (not all groups), for certain CDs (not all CDs of any groups) is for Taiwan, Sweden, and Korea for outside of Japan. I know that a lot of fans would not believe what I have just said. Verify it with JE Japan so that the truth comes from them. There are official stuff (really expensive), unofficial but made to look almost 99.99% identical to an original, down to the quality of the seal, CD printing and CD case printing (reasonable), and lastly there are those who looks really crappy from the start (really cheap). A lot of fans do not know that and ended up supporting everyone else's pocket instead of their favorite idols' pocket. I am not perfect, and I have bought non official doramas too. My believe is that as long as you know the REAL value of the item, the rest is up to you. I just feel it is unfair for fans to be duped to think it is one thing but in reality it is not.

i think this discussion is hopeless, cause i have no motivation to check if these two cds were lincensed in china. of course eve if, nobody would know, because everyone buying from yesasia or cdjapan only sees the tw or korea version, because tw and korea is releasing each and every single.

so it really is difficult to explain, npnut as i said, if you can see that thing, youll know its nit a copied whatever.
of course i can deny that its not that china sells tons of ot everywhere.
But i know that these 2 CDs are not only being sold in beijing, but everywhere in mainland china and huge mostly trsutable stores for the same price.
as for unlincensed things the price varies a lot from city to city, so as example, tianjing is alot cheaper then beijing.

and it wouldnt make sense only to sell two copied cds of arashi.

as i just chevked my cd, the copyright said these two cds have beenboth lincensed in 2008,i guess it was for their aaa in shanghai, so they released a best of and their newest album.

so whatever, this discussion wont help at all and all we do is spamming. and talkimg to a ano is pretty senselesss i some way...

Hey! I have been to Beijing last year, and I've turned and turned around especially in Sanlitun, because it's the embassee's quarter. And I've found nothing about Arashi. T___T They obviously don't sell any CDs in Beijing... Eventhough I've stayed there 2 months, I haven't found any Japanese CDs.

As for Shanghai, the town is more international, but I haven't found any CD's shop over there either. So last year, I had to go to Hong Kong, more precisely to Mong Kok Sin store to get my 5x10 limited japanese edition.

I want to warn about the counterfeiting in China. This may have decreased recently, but you should be very careful when you happen to buy a CD in China.

If you're just looking for normal Singles and Albums, if you walk into any HMV in Hong Kong (and there are quite a few) they will sell legit Arashi CD's (and other Johnny's). Posters... I remember there was an idol store somewhere. It might've been in Sino Plaza actually. I don't remember too much though, it's been a while.

and DVD's as well (like concert DVD's). Some of them might be 'HK' version (or maybe it's Taiwan...) so they will have Chinese subs as well. And if you're lucky, you will be able to find limited edition things more easily as well. I got all me LE things in the Hong Kong HMV's actually

Hey~I am just sharing what I know.
I live in Beijing, and basically I don't know anywhere that you can buy the original goods.
For Shanghai, I just went there half a month ago. There is a place called Xinxigong(新西宫). At the third floor, there is a small store called Sanxiashe(三夏社)where you can buy all the stuffs like magzine, uchiwa, photobooks, cds.....But there are two Sanxiashe, one of them is selling Korean stuff, the other is selling Japanese stuff, so don't be wrong!
If you have any questions, I would love to help!

I was in Beijing last year and I only found one store that sold Japanese Mags...at Wangfujing ...along that shopping street..there's this International Bookstore...i forgot what floor...but you can see at the directory from the elevator, a japanese section of magazines. There's Myojo, Popolo, Duet, and also some others like Ray, and other girl mags. but the prices are sooo unbelievably high! like 400% of the original price. normally those mags were just 5 dollars, there they sold it for like 20 dollars a piece.
and of course RussK. and thats it. and random idol mags from magazine stands on the streets. They also sell japanese mags

You mean places of interests that you could go to? or the place you could buy arashi stuff?

For Arashi stuff, I don't know anywhere else besides Wangfujing Foreign bookstore. But it only has magzines there, and the prices are high. For other stuff, you may go to Xidan(西单)Mingzhu(明珠),there you can find some idol stuff probably.

I went to Guangzhou and Beijing last year and didn't see anything. But I might have not been in the main area in Guangzhou, more like Foshan... and I was on a group tour for Beijing... but anyways, my mom's brother brought us to pretty much the biggest malls and stuff in the Guangzhou-ish area and I couldn't find anything, all they had was Super Junior everywhere, [sigh] But I'd think they'd have stuff in Shanghai, what with Arashi's AAA tour going through there specifically. During the tour dates, apparently the CD stores there would have stands up front specifically for them... or that could have been Taiwan (^_^)> (Still, having a concert there with many people means they had a good means to spread Arashi love.)

My friend told me that in SH there's a place you could buy Arashi's 周边. I'll write the name in Chinese.
西宫's 三夏社
You can buy CDs,团扇, and posters there.
Also, magazines are available in foreign bookstores, but the price is... you know.haha

Hope it's not too late.
Feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

It's not an AD...I've never been to that shop myself.XD

Hi~
I live in Hong Kong.
Sorry to doubt the opinions above,I don't think HMV and Hong Kong Records are good places to buy CDs and DVDs.I think the prices are more expensive in there.
You can find CDs and DVDs from normal CD shops with rather reasonable prices. It's quite esay to find them.
For arashi goods, because I rarely buy goods ,sorry....I can't help you.
But Sino center as stated above is well known for japanese idol goods, however,be sure to check the prices in different shops.
Be patience to check them one by one (do not believe them when they say they are the only shop to sell the item :P)
I heard these from my friends(they are senior but I am a new comer to the fandom^^).So be careful when buying things in Sino Center.

If it's Hong Kong it's got to be Sino Center. That's a haven for Johnny's goods and other Asian pop stuff. I never miss it when I pass by Hong Kong even if my savings get wiped out :)

They have a lot of Arashi stuff there: albums, singles, posters, etc. I even saw copies of old and new Arashi magazines there.

Good luck! :)

I've been to guangzhou , and i found a street full of Japanese (animanga & JE boys ) merchandise and photo book (unofficial) with crazy price and just like a paradise xD But it's been a long time ago, so i forgot the street name. The only thing i remember, it is beside the famous river. I recall a street name called Jiang Xiao Lu. But I'm not sure... Hope u find it, and if u find it, would u mind to tell me the exact address? Tq ^^

And yeah Sino city in HK used to sell many J-artist's "Hongkong Original Edition" Concert DVD, high quality but cheaper prize. But I don't know nowadays..

I live in HK
and yeah as those commented above definitly sino center~
not only are there cd/dvd, mags but also like posters and photobook~ there's this shop on the basement floor like u go down the escalator n u turn left then forward its got loads of magazine and in there u will be able to find arashi photobook [i saw tokujou/my girl/pikanchi/ohno's free style etc.] there but yeah depends if they have stock. Also u might be able to find one or two posters~ i got the kitto daijoubu single poster there. But yeah bascially just walk around sino basement floor which usually sells CD/DVD/magazines the 1st n 2nd floor of it may have some unoffical goods like 'reprints' of johnny shop pics and key chains~
for uchiwa's there's this place called j-friends which is near sino center, in this.. place where there's a spagetti house like nxt to the spagetti house there's a lift and go in [i forgot which floor - but i'll say on the lift] and when u get out of the lift its the shop. There are loads of arashi /johnnys/basically jap - some korean stuff in there like old mags, pamflet etc. these are usually like fans who are reselling them so prices will kinda be ranged~
And yeah actually for arashi cd/dvd most HK cd shops will have espcially ones like HMV, CD warehouse, hong kong records but yeah usually they may be overpriced [esp HMV and hong kong records]~

anyway hope i helped you ^^
if u have any problem you can lj msg me ~ lol i can try to help you with directions if you wanan go to like sino plaza ^^
