Jan. 16th, 2007 04:42 pmSo I am determined to subscribe to a magazine and I was wondering...
Which magazine to subscribe to, which has the most Arashi? My first instinct says Myojo but maybe I'm wrong.
Also is cdjapan... reputable? Anime Nation has Myojo subscriptions but not Potato or Wink Up or anything else so if I wanted one of these I would need to order from cdjapan, which is not something I've done before so I just wanted to check them out a little. I hope this post is ok. Thank you for any input.

Date: 2007-01-16 10:24 pm (UTC)I've ordered from CDJapan numerous times. They're very helpful and their shipping is extremely fast, if a bit expensive (it's worth it, believe me). I have yet to try their subscription services though.
As for which, I tend to like the shoots done for Duet. Plus Duet has the Arashi IZM column which has given us such gems as Ohno with Sen, Jun in the gorgeous glasses, and Nino in his apartment.
If you have any questions about their service, I'd suggest emailing them, I'm sure they'd be happy to answer you! :)

Date: 2007-01-17 12:08 am (UTC)To be honest though, there's really no point in subscribing to any magazine if you're only looking for stuff on one particular group, unless you just have a ton of money to blow. The advantage of Myojo apparently is that it tends to have more posters, but it's also more expensive because of that. Duet tends to have the nicest photoshoots - if that sort of thing matters to you. When I say "nicest photoshoots" I mean they have prettier/more interesting settings, better poses, better lighting, not that they have more half naked supposed-to-look-like-i'm-in-bed-with-you shots. Some of the other magazines, particularly Myojo as of late, tends to just have the guys thrown in some clothes and standing in front of a blank background. Zzzz.
But because magazine photoshoots in general tend to be hit or miss, and you're not going to be guaranteed a big spread of Arashi every single month, it's better to buy them by issue. As someone else mentioned, Kinokuniya and Book Off stores usually have magazines. If you, like me, live in an area where those stores don't exist, try ebay. Many people subscribe to magazines and then resell the ones they don't want on ebay - sometimes you find reasonable prices and sometimes they're rediculous. There's another site that does subscriptions with cheaper shipping than cdjapan - fujisomething, try a google search? They also do special orders I believe.

And ignore the ass in the first post. (but if you need a pic or something in the com. just add it in.)
