Hello everyone.
A friend of mine invited me to Araki Nobuyoshi's exhibition in Shanghai. I didn't know much about him. Most of his works are black&white photos of naked women, cats, and heavy colored flowers.
To my surprise, I found a photo of Matsumoto Jun.[OK, actually it's my firend who found it.]

What do you gus think of the photo?
Although I'm not a big fan of Jun, I think he always shows a special feeling in his photo shootings. In this black&white photo, you can feel it even more.

You mean the exibit?
I am not sure. It's like a small private exibit held in Shanghai and Beijing. There's photo of other artists. I saw 苍井优.
The photo was taken by a very very famous artist. I guess Jun and Johnny san can consider it as a honor. haha

Holy moley, Araki's pretty much a big time photographer, his works are known around the world. We covered him in photography class, although, I never really liked him because some of his most well-known work is...misogynistic and degrading to women. Perhaps it's art, but yeah, just can't get into it.

This is a nice picture of Jun though. I wonder under what circumstances this shot was taken? Thank you for sharing! Aww, would loved to see a better copy of it, if just to see his whole expression clearer.

i used to not like Matsu (because he replaced Domoto Tsuyoshi in Kindaichi & he still had crooked teeth then :/ ) but after watching his newer dramas & tons of mago mago arashi & himitsu, i kinda like him. He always has this different kind of vibe like although he isnt as expressive as Aiba chan, his presence gives off a kind of protective, emotional & generally people cant help but grow to appreciate him and his talents. idk maybe its just me!
he looks good in that picture though! lucky to spot matsujun! :D

ARAKI!!!! Wow, this is pretty big - Araki's a world-famous photographer, and I'm thrilled that he shot Jun. (I wonder if there are any other pictures of him from that shoot?) I love when Jun is in more "artistic" photoshoots, especially in black-and-white. I think he's extremely photogenic in a unique way, like he's almost his own work of art, because of the strong contrast and angles in his face. lol.

I wouldn't call Araki so much misogynistic as frankly and bluntly sexual - his works border pornography, but do not mean to demean women even if his main subjects are prostitutes and girls in shibari. But to each his own lol - I've read interpretations from both sides, and I don't think he's demeaning the way, say, Terry Richardson or Dov Charney (my benchmarks for misoygynistic photographers) are lol. Anyway, this is still really awesome because Araki is a freaking legend (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0268/is_n5_v33/ai_16462109/), dirty or no.

I wonder if he'd ever shoot Jun, a dude, in his trademark way [is shot] XD

Thanks for sharing! i just learned abt a reputable photographer which i wld not have heard of if not for being in the arashi fandom! let me sidetrack a lil.. ever since i got hooked on the arashi, i realised that my general knowledge has improved a lot!
