Hi there.

I am not sure whether this question has been asked before.
I shall just get straight to the point :)

I am planning to buy Arashi's concert tickets this year.
But after scanning through ticket.co.jp & yahoo auction jp.
I am wondering why these 2 ticketing sites are priced so differently?

Is there a reason why people sell their tickets more pricey at ticket.co.jp
whereares in yahoo auction jp tickets are ranged from really low to really really high prices.

Also, most of the ticketing services provides services from ticket.co.jp
For someone new like me :)
Any ticketing sites to reccomend?

Haha. I hope i am not too hard to understand.
Thank you!

Yahoo auction selling at low prices?! Don't be cheated. Most of the auctions at YA have this system of minimum bid. Even without that system, the price will get bidded up really fast. It may be as low as a few thousand/a few tens of thousands a few days before the end of the auction, but when only a few hours remain, a bidding battle will surely ensue. Anyway, the system, as I was saying, is such that if the highest bid at the closing time doesn't meet the minimum price set by the seller, the whole auction will restart.

Yeah.. im going for the 22nd's. Its my 3rd Arashi concert. Went for the Osaka Dome concert last year and only paid half the price. Went to Shanghai too.. that's probably the cheapest. haha..
Guess this will be my last concert in Japan. Its seriously insane... but i really want to experience Kokuritsu. If you think about it, even National Day Parade can't beat the atmosphere in terms of no. of people. :)

lol....IS there gonna be a 3rd AAA concert? will definitely try to catch that!
actually i had a chance to go for one of last year's kokuritsu concerts in december - i was in harajuku, and staring through the glass at a pair of tickets (for a concert starting in 4 hours), SGD700 apiece. but i didn't go, because i didn't have a friend willing to spend the SGD700 with me! sighs, wasted.

Also with the auction the seller can back out on selling to you if they don't get as high a price as they want-thats less likely to happen with ticket.co.jp since its a set price the seller is asking for. This makes getting a good price at auction difficult since the seller will just refuse to sell to you if the auction ends at a lower than expected price.

Well, I see somebody posted this site up about buying ticket

http://www.ryoko-donya.com/TKT/japan-ticket.htm

but the price is really high, just in case if you wasn't win the auction.

ticket.co.jp is just simply a ticket buying site..theres no bidding involved..u click the button on the right..if itz available then ur off on a page to chose how many tickets u want..one or two..n other information needed for the seller to sell u the ticket..tickets r usually sent to u a week or two before the date of the concert

the ticket system for it is very simple..so even if one doesnt kno japanese..itz still fairly easy..n a translator can alwayz help...here comes the problem..in order to register for the site to buy or sell tickets..u must be japanese or atleast have a japanese address n phone number..since tickets r mailed by the seller 2 weeks b4 the concert date..they usually ship it to that address that u provided wen u registered..the japanese are generally not willing to mail tickets to overseas fans..so if ur from florida..it's hard..u cant get them mailed to ur house....the other option is say if u already have ur flight to japan set..n ur hotel or accommodation booked..u could put the address n phone number of ur hotel ur staying at..n have the seller send the tickets there..just let the hotel kno that u have a package or sumthing coming for u n if they could hold it

the best way is to find a person that can bid for u..or sumone that can sell u a ticket if u meet them in person..there r various ppl from lj that would post if they have a ticket to sell..n chances r the prices r much more reasonable than others online

there is also this site http://www.crescent-shop.com/ that can help u purchase tickets from ticket.co.jp n i believe they send the ticket to ur hotel with just a fee..itz an option to take if u dont want to risk understanding how to purchase tickets

From: [identity profile] hanakimmie.livejournal.com
I believe you have to have a Japanese credit card to use those sites and a japanese address to send the tickets too (you can use the hotel your going to stay at for the address part).
If you don't have that you'll have to get someone to buy them for you. jegoods will do it for a fee http://je-goods.livejournal.com/1003.html?page=2#comments but obviously if you have a friend living in japan that would be the cheapest.

I just want to say thank you for mentioning my ticket service! It is better if you can have a friend here in Japan help you, but I am happy to help anyone who is not able to do that. I have used the site for more than 3 years to get myself and others tickets to a variety of concerts and shows. A lot of the information everyone has provided is correct, but you are not supposed to use a hotel as your address when you register for the site. I know when I registered, it stated that the address must be a permanent address within Japan and not a hotel or hostel. I think it used to be okay to have the tickets sent to a hotel, but they changed the rules a few years ago for 'safety' reasons.

To buy the tickets, you can use either a Japanese credit card, a Japanese cell phone, or pay via internet bank. All the payment options pretty much require living in Japan. The internet bank option requires you to be in Japan to sign up. I've also tried to register with my US-issued VISA card several times, but the system won't accept it, only my Japan-issued card. With a cell phone, if you are able to navigate their mobile site, you can pay with cash at a local convenience store. You'll need to be able to read some kanji in order to do this.

p.s. sorry reiko-chan for the inserted questions.. your post also raises plenty of questions to my head.heheh

I'm from the US and went to an Arashi concert in Sapporo last year as I was vacationing in Japan when they held one :) My concert tickets were about $340, including all the fees (I used a shopping agent to buy tickets for me on ticket.co.jp). Flights to Japan were actually pretty reasonable. I think I paid about $870, including taxes and insurance, but that was to Narita. Since I was not originally going to Japan to see Arashi in Hokkaido, I had to buy a separate domestic flight ticket ($325 round trip). There are discounted airfare tickets for foreigners, so you should look into that. I stayed in a hotel in Otaru as all the Sapporo ones were booked and paid $102/night. You should also factor in transportation (i.e. JR Train fares). I had a JR pass, so I don't know how much the ride was from my hotel to Sapporo Station (check http://www.hyperdia.com/ for fares). I did have to pay for the Sapporo subway though (240 Yen one way). All in all, I think it depends where you are flying from and how much you are willing to pay for tickets. I would say I spent at least $850 (excluding airfare).

I hope this gave you a little idea of how much it could cost to see them. I do want to say that it was incredibly worth it. I don't regret spending this much money at all and am actually considering seeing them again in the future. If you're interested, here's a link to my journal about my Arashi experience:

. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I wouldn't say I know everything, but I don't mind helping another Arashi fan as so many helped me when I was planning my trip last year :)

Hi ur guide is really good.
I just have another question (hehe)

For example, if i am not planning to buy the concert goods at all; not wanting to line up.
(in order to use the time for other sight seeings in japan)

Do you know,
How many hours earlier do we have to start making our way into the stadium in order to reach our seats in time? Or should i say how many hours beforehand do we have to reach the venue.

Thanks!

Hi :)

Well, the concert started at 6 PM, but they opened the stadium doors at 4 PM (they state that on the concert ticket). There were a lot of people waiting to get inside, but I do not remember it taking so long for me to get in. Personally, I would try to get there at least an hour earlier just to be safe; I tend to worry if I get lost, or if the train breaks down for some reason and I miss the beginning of the concert.

Honestly, getting into the stadium and finding my seat wasn't a problem (the Sapporo Dome had signs everywhere so it was easy to find my seat), but getting out took forever. I saw several people leave before the concert ended just to avoid the rush of people. Still, someone did tell me at another venue it took her a while to find her seat and she actually sat down in the wrong one (she had to move when the person came by). At the Sapporo Dome there were workers there to help you find your seat, though I'm not sure if that is everywhere.

I hope that answered your question!

From: [identity profile] verde-ivy.livejournal.com
Hmm, I can only speculate why the Sapporo tickets are cheaper. One reason could be because it's difficult to get to Sapporo since you have to fly to Hokkaido and perhaps fans who got tickets to that concert can't afford to get there? Or perhaps the seat is just average in terms of closeness to the stage. I didn't think too much about the latter reason because I thought I was lucky enough to get tickets to go. If you see an outrageously priced ticket, there's a good chance that it's a pretty good seat (or the seller is bluffing).

If you are definitely going to the Sapporo Concert, I would book the hotel now. I do not believe you will get penalized if you decide to cancel the reservation later on unless you cancel it 24 hours before your reservation, BUT I would check the hotel's policy and see if the hotel charges your card immediately and to see if you can cancel without forfeiting money. I waited until I had confirmed tickets, but by then all hotels near Sapporo Station were gone and I had to stay in Otaru (25 min from Sapporo Station). That's why I recommend if you know that you are going, just go ahead and book. Once tickets are released, finding a hotel "close" to Sapporo dome will be challenging. Also, because it takes so long to get out of the dome after the concert is over, I was really worried that I would miss the last train from Sapporo to Otaru and be stuck at Sapporo Station overnight.

I do not recall many hotels near Sapporo Dome, except a hotel near Chitose Airport, but that was pricey. I would look around Sapporo Station. It's a quick subway ride (not JR line. ~13 min) from Sapporo Station to the dome and I think it was 240 yen each way. Toyoko Inn is pretty cheap and close to Sapporo Station. I was going to stay at the Ramada Hotel Sapporo, but it got booked. Though you had to take a subway to Sapporo Station from the Ramada.

Let me know if you have any other questions! Sorry for the lengthy response ^^;

i have a question. say you buy arashi concert tickets online and then you go to the concert, do they check if youre in the fan club or not when you go in on the day of the concert? is there a way that they could possibly find out that youre really not in the fan club but have a ticket? is that illegal? what could happen if youre not in the fan club and you get caught?

Date: 2010-08-10 07:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mixaka.livejournal.com
It is against the fan club rules to use a ticket that isn't yours, but it's also against the rules to sell them above face value and no one ever seems to have a problem doing that! The worst that would happen if you got caught would be that you would not be allowed into the concert venue.

I used to worry about this sort of situation, but, after 3 years of attending various JE concerts and butai using tickets that I purchased, I have not once had my membership status or ID checked. Nor have I ever seen anyone having theirs checked. They will check your bag or purse when you enter, but that's about it. I am a member now but figured if anyone ever asked why I was using a ticket that wasn't mine, I'd simply say a friend gave me the ticket and feign ignorance of the rules.

From: [identity profile] verde-ivy.livejournal.com
Ditto to what mixaka said below. I went to an Arashi concert for the first time last year and I was also concerned about not being in the fan club, but having a ticket. They only checked my bag and let me in. As a precautionary measure, I did make sure I knew how to say a friend gave me the ticket in Japanese just in case they asked.

Date: 2010-08-11 01:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shelketuesti.livejournal.com
I can only agree. Most of the times - especially in Arashi's case - the venues are just too big to check on everyone's ID. Just imagine how much time it would cost to check the identity of all the people attending Kokuritsu, when it's already taking that much time to check all bags, like they do it know.

BUT... be careful with purchasing tickets from the internet - Johnny's Entertainment isn't stupid either, as they check the webpages / ticket auction sides as well. Last year, they canceled a bunch of seats when they found the ticket for those seats sold on the internet. - So, if the seller is stupid enough to write the exact seat number on the auction site / item description, I wouldn't buy it. Too dangerous.

Tickets good for the whole season, and this is one way for you to make sure that you don't fail to watch your favorite football team. There are even those who have their own marketing approaches which appeal to many customers. Examples of these methods of selling is making their tickets more affordable compared to other ticketing stores; they offer discounts to those who will buy a number of tickets; they are also good in taking.
