Date: 2010-09-27 04:26 am (UTC)JSTORM and Johnny Jimusho are greedy as f***ed!!!
I'm not mad at Arashi but at their management. Are they even thinking of Arashi's career in the future? Do they want Arashi to end up so overexposed that the public will start turning on them? ;__:
They just released 6 singles in a year that used to take them 3 years to release. I'm really upset at they way the guys are being treated. I know they are idols but come on they are not robots. They looked like they'll drop dead any moment with their workload lately.
I feel like they're exploiting Arashi's popularity for all their worth. I dont know if this is a good marketing tool or they are just helping an even bigger backlash (hopefully not). Seriously, there are so many haters nowadays. Back in the day, everyone liked them... :( I don't really think they hate Arashi though but they just hate the constant media exposure.
I don't know whether to feel happy or not about this single. I love Arashi so much that I hope their management gives them a break for next year so people will start to yearn for them again.

I won't mind one bit. As long as they don't look like they'll drop dead.

Date: 2010-09-27 04:56 am (UTC)Seriously though, I think they need to keep these releases in check. Granted that they have a reputation for song tie-ups with whatever dramas/events that any member does, but that was when there weren't dramas starring them every season and a thousand and one CMs.
That being said, I guess to them, work is always good. Beats having none. Still, please let this be the last single for the year!

Date: 2010-09-27 04:56 am (UTC)Releasing 1 single every 2 months. Come on, Johnny-san don't treat them like money machine..! Even just to follow this fandom seems tiring, I can't imagine how it feels to be Arashi.
We won't be disappointed or sad just because they only release single like 4 times a year. Let them have a rest..
I'm afraid if people started to get tired of Arashi just because JE exposing them too much.
I hope Arashi's still healthy..

Date: 2010-09-27 05:00 am (UTC)But then, business-wise it makes sense for Johnny to pull something like this. Arashi's popularity is at its peak and they try to get as much as they can from it. Imagine how much he has invested on those guys, as well. Not that i am defending Johnny or something, but i think it is part of the deal.
it sucks, but that's showbiz, i think.

Date: 2010-09-27 05:10 am (UTC)I think for people who are fans and who watch all their shows and their dramas and anything they pop up in it feels like they're everywhere, but really I don't think it's a bad as people think.
For example, even with all their CMs they're nowhere near as high as say, Ueto Aya. And even then, the only way to see huge billboard ads with them is to go into Tokyo or a major train station, like Shibuya or Yokohama. If you ride the trains you might see a Kirin ad though. Heck, even on the Yamanote trains where they play Wii CMs, only rarely do the ones with Arashi pop up.
And, most people won't watch everything they are in, so they might only see Arashi once a week on TV. And while they maybe on the cover of a lot of TV magazines, SMAP was just like that for years, heck even now, if SMAP has something out, you can bet they'll be on the cover of everything.
Talking about SMAP, given how they were/are, I feel like Japanese people don't view Arashi's seeming dominance over TV as overexposure, but just normal.
So, I feel like people didn't worry about a backlash against them, sure their popularity might even out in a year or two, like SMAP's has, but don't worry.
Now, worrying about their health, yeah that seems like something to worry about.

Date: 2010-09-27 05:13 am (UTC)You honestly just lessened my worry.
I feel like a mother hen when it comes to those boys. xDD
I think it's just the online English community (erm-Arama-erm) who are voicing against Arashi's dominance in the charts and elsewhere. Mostly because they are fans of other JE groups....

Date: 2010-09-27 05:17 am (UTC)Arashi singing is always <3. I refuse to react to the quantity of songs Arashi have so much as the quality of them and what they each will sound like when they are released, and so far I'm loving the singles this year, so it doesn't matter to me how many they do. If they care enough about each song to release them, then each song will get its just respect from me. Arashi has had some pretty good singles this year, a good mix of faster paced songs like Troublemaker and Love Rainbow, midtempo ones like Monster, slower one like To Be Free and now Dear Snow, and that's what? 5 songs, 1 more so far than the 4 singles they released in 2008 and 2009, which isn't that excessive as some people may think. If their projects for the rest of the year hold, Nino's drama will take several months through the winter tv season through what - Nov, December, right? So this might be the last single of the year, we don't know. I doubt there will be single for Oh-chan's appearance on the Kimyona Monogatari episode. LOL And Gantz won't be released until spring of next year, so it's not like we're going to get that song anytime soon if Arashi is indeed going to sing the song for that movie. We start over when the new year starts, remember? :) Sho's movie won't be released until next year either so what's left? Maybe, a big maybe, we MIGHT get one more after Nino's but that's a big if. The end of the year music shows and concerts start coming closer, too, and they're still debating on whether to put Arashi as an MC for Kohaku, which tells you there's a high probability that on top of the regular music shows they attend every year, Arashi will be going to Kohaku again this year. And that's on top of the fact they're still doing their tour. Also, Arashi has done pretty well with both romantic and not-so-romantic singles, like Pikanchi for their movie, Happiness for Yamada Taro Monogatari, Believe for Yatterman, and I love Truth for Oh-chan's Maou, which isn't romantic either. I think there have been a lot of trolls like on Arama and various Arashi communities spreading their influence about how they hate all these singles Arashi is turning out. So some fans reading through all the comments may start wondering about it, too. Just remember Arashi has come pretty far in their career despite what the haters have said over the years. We're still here, ne? :) But even if you don't like it, the simple thing to do then is not get into it. If you find out you don't like the song, the easiest thing to do is to simply not get into the news, articles, posts, etc. about it and skip over them. It's not that hard to tune out something other people are into and go your own way. :) And it's easier to simply not buy the single, download the mp3s online, and not listen to the song if you don't want to. There's more than enough OTHER news, their variety shows, and stuff about Arashi to keep every fan busy. LOL The rest of us who do find they like their singles, that's who those posts are for. Leave those for us. :) And some may be right. Arashi doesn't have to sing for every acting project they do. But I guess with their popularity being at an all time high, the entire industry is into them. Their hard work, their great personalities, etc are filtering into the increased workload they're getting but you know inspite of it all, they still come out smiling and looking like they're enjoying themselves so it must be okay. If people are worried about the potential repercussions the quantity of songs they're releasing will have on the public, the fact Troublemaker, Monster, and Love Rainbow are in the top 5 of most sales this year, not to mention the Boku album being so close to the 1million mark, speaks for how the public think, not those trolls we keep bumping into in other communities. :) So I say just let each thing come as they do, and enjoy it (or not) for the Arashi fan you are. :)
