I hope not. Smap got to still sing inspite of their hosting right? I'm sure Arashi will also have an opportunity to sing, especially considering how successful their singles and album were this year, too. *crosses fingers and toes* :)

Edited to add: Ooh, I just thought of something. Didn't Smap usually also close out the evening as the last performance? If Arashi are still planning on making an appearance at Johnny's Countdown, I could see where they might consider forgoing the last performance if it means having the extra time to make the Countdown to be with their senpais and kouhais. They did do a duplicate performance of Believe at both events last year, so maybe this way they don't duplicate a performance? I'm guessing of course. No matter, I'd still watch the entire event. :)

Oh I didn't mean they'd skip out early. Sorry, I guess it's hard to describe writing this down on the internet. I meant if Arashi didn't perform at Kohaku would that lessen the length of time of the Kohaku event itself from last year's (I have no idea if Kohaku runs consistently the same time every year) to give them the extra time after the show and their hosting duties ended to make it to Johnny's Countdown? But then I'm assuming they'd have to hurry and rush to the Countdown even though I don't expect them to host it. *thinks again* Okay, scratch that. Never mind. Even if they run late to the Countdown, I think they'd still be able to make it, just at a later part of the show with a performance since they're not hosting it...

I'm not sure where I read this from, but I heard Kohaku hosts are expected to attend the after party, which is part of the reason why SMAP has never joined the others for Countdown. It'll probably end waaaay past Countdown, so the chances of them making it is probably very very low, unless they only intend to reach at the end of Countdown.

Kohaku's just a huge deal for all of Japan. I doubt Johnny will let them skip anything and kill their rep for it :/

I think JE Countdown is lots of fun too but Kouhaku is undoubtedly a bigger event and it's a huge honor to be the hosts of the White Team. Of course it would be great if they could do both, but they can't because of the time so Kouhaku is going to be their priority. I don't think they are going to skip out early specially because it's their first time as hosts. And if they are chosen the hosts next year, and then the next, and the next... just like Nakai was for the past couple of years, I don't think they are going to refuse it either.

I really dont since I happen to watch Kouhaku on and off and its a prestigious event to be involved in.

However, I would not wish our boys to miss CD when they have attended it all these years. It would be a crying shame if JE's hottest act cant even attend their own year end concert! Praying they get to sing because when Nakai hosts it, SMAP performs too.

Let's hope they are excused from the Kouhaku post-party and fly to the Dome in a chopper as someone suggested.

I can understand why there are so many fans who are sad about them not going to JE Countdown this year because of Kouhaku. It's the only chance we get to see all our Johnnys performing together, right? But still... in my opinion they should stay for the whole event and for the after party too even if they have to sacrifice countdown. I mean, they are the hosts! It wouldn't be sensible to just skip out early!

Well, anyway... we'll wait and see what happens! Let's just support them either way!xD

Yamakaze, thanks for the update on Kohaku. Everybody talking about whether and what Arashi will do at Kohaku. This is funny - Sanspo and Zakzak have contradicting responses from the NHK producers apparently. One says they won't sing; the other says they will. I think I'd like to go with Zakzak's. LOL If the Gegege no Nyobo theme song is sung, I agree that Monster would be good to sing, plus the choreography is good. Kaibutsu-kun the story is something everybody grew up and is familiar with, comparable to Gegege, and Monster does have a few good lines in there that are good inspiring, memorable ones, like the one about it's not the outside appearances; hold onto the heart. My favorite line in the entire song. lol Rings so true. Of course if they're talking about drama percentages, Freeter so far has the highest ratings and Hatenai Sora isn't even released yet. LOL XD

the gossips amuses me always. i wonder if they know they are hanging out with the same girl. i guess not since they said before that they don't ask each other about their love affairs, but it's sure super awkward when they realize it. the part where nino was deprived and summoned her to the toilet was funny. i'm not so sure if i wanna know that side of them but i guess that's what makes us realize that they are also human

True, though something I realized a long time ago. When you consider how young these guys are starting in the industry, looking at all the shows in which they learned life lessons, like perseverance in Mayonaka, helping others in Mago Mago, G no Arashi helping people with their problems, C no Arashi learning about being strong as they deal with complaints being thrown at them, heck even what Sora Takaku community has shared recently with the show Inu no Kimochi where they learned to put themselves in other people's shoes, then consider all the challenges the media and life has thrown at them over the years, both in their career as a group and in their private lives, honestly I think this is half the reason why the group is as strong as it is united, and why the fandom has continued to stick by them. It has only made them stronger, teaches them the lessons they've learned along the way, and made them the group and individuals they are now - stronger, more mature, and have their hearts in the right place. I have to thank the media actually, now that I think about it. Had these guys not dealt with all that they had dealt with, I do not know that they'd be as good or strong a group as they have grown to be now.

thank you, totally agree with what you said. i guess whatever they does, we will still love them for who they are. when i look back at their old shows, i realize that they've grown so much and how this 5 people are different from other idols. looking at them try so hard at everything makes me wanna continue trying too. i cannot imagine the amount of pressure and stress they have with the media and public on them all the time, privacy definitely doesn't exist in their lives. i think it's because of their humanly side that makes fans feel closer to them. i should look at it from a different point from now on, that they are who they are now because of what they went through ~
