Kohaku yesterday blog scene of press conf. the press. conf was held on 3 Nov, it's special dray for Arashi. comment of members. Jun Matsumoto: We handle white team MC.it's Jun Matsumoto of Arashi, thank you for coming in spite of your busy schedule. as 3 Nov is special day for us. I feel so happy to be at press conference place of such a big post on 3 Nov. Honestly, yesterday as I was nervous and excited, I couldn't sleep well. I imagined how it would be if 5 of us do the MC. I don't think we can do great MC but I hope to do MC without bothering everybody's song showing our bond and team work. I want to do our best this new year's eve. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. Satoshi Ohno: it's Satoshi Ohno of Arashi. Honestly I'm still surprised. so, I will sort out my feeling later, I cheer white team to the utmost. as there are many senior so I want to warm up their performance. I want to do my best enjoying to the fullest. yoroshiku onegaishimasu. Masaki Aiba: it's Masaki Aiba. it was dream to participate to Kohaku song festival since making debut as Arashi in 1999, last year unexpected participation, really so happy, I was celebrated by various people. ant this year unexpected MC. surprising continued. I feel honoured to be able to watch so close such wonderful song by all and support them. I get hustle on. yoroshiku ongaishimasu. Kazunari Ninomiya: it's Kazunari Ninomiya, yoroshiku onegaishimasu. me too, I'm still surprised just like leader. this year is 61th year and as (kohoku marked 60 years)  it makes new step. so, we are 11th year. as we marked 10 year last year and the we feel that we make new step, that feeling linked. and MC of white team, we are always try to various matters enjoying. I hope to work Kohaku enjoying.I hope to warm up both red and white team, and come to fun day. yoroshiku onegai shimasu. Sho Sakurai: it's Sho Sakurai of Arashi. Today 11 years ago, we were Yoyogi gymnasium near by here. unexpectedly I haven't dreamed to be at such press conf. so I'm fulfilled surprise and happy feeling. When we participate last year for the first time I realized the scale of the show, Kohaku. and in the street I was told "congratulations participation of Kohaku."  many time. I heard in foreign country they cross a year once with Kohaku and cross the year again with local time. Kohaku, the show resonate Japanese heart not only domestic people but also who located in all the world  for world widely. I feel really happy to do such big role . I hope to give you a help as much as we can to our senior can sing pleasantly. yoroshiku onegaishimasu. we will upload the continuation of press conf later.

(she is pianist too) I feel so honored to work together at such music show, the representative show of Japan. Q: how do you feel when MC is determinate to Arashi. O: Hearing MC get decided to 5 of us, last week, honestly I could not think anything. Last year we could participate Kohaku for the first time. this year as MC. I'm still stunned. I think I sort out my feelings later. M: you haven't sorted out yet. O: I haven't at this moment. but I'm looking forward to it. Q: what kind of color you show as MC? M: I want to challenge having feeling to participate all what I can do with my poor ability and cooperate in order to succeed this show... actually my personal opinion, as I think I will never do MC  unless Arashi as group. I think I could be happy if I can deliver easily to audiences our original atmosphere and team work we have been since we made debut. O: As it's really first time experience, I think to enjoy to the utmost without being rude is most important, I think if we could make it enjoying this could be delivered. Hum, amazing 517 is amazing. honestly, I say honestly. about my lifting, how many times I could make it, when i was 6th grade at primary school.  I can teach the number I did, Shogo. it's 37 times. he he he. how ever I haven't done (football) don't you think I could make it long? right? if I did 3 times more this could be 40. so I gave up there as it was too half-baked. but I think I could make it long, that's bummer. me rather football, me badminton club. I was badminton club. it's hard to continue badminton, yep but I haven't been tired with badminton for 3 years. after all it was quite  about tactic with opposition, smash and other, you hit with all my might, you have clear, drive and many. that tactics, showing I hit smash, I let down that moment set up opposition. that tactics was fun. after all I liked most the day I can hit at gymnasium. I haven't done practiced outdoor a lot, I was quitted club, but when I go applogized I could be back. that was adolescence, yep. so Good luck Shogo-kun.

Ever since the announcement there have been so many concerns over the issue... I even heard that Arashi may not even sing for the white team, I saw it at aramatheydidnt lj... so confusing -_-''

I think the article says Japanese media got angry at JE's behaviour about the announcement of Kohaku, it's total unrelated with our boys...
and I think they'll sing at Kohaku, although there're not offical announcement yet but I couldn't find the reason not to let them singing

I think the reporters weren't upset about Arashi being MC for kohaku.

From my understanding, the reporters knew MC position for white team would be one of the Johnny. Their guess were either Arashi, V6's Inohara or SMAP's Nakai. They asked the PR from Johnny agency for confirmation and then PR denied entirely [it wasn't any of them being MC]. Few hours later, the press got fax from NHK, annoucing Arashi as MC.

Basically, they were complaining why JE had denied everything and refused giving them exclusive information to report before NHK made its annoucement. It'd be pointless to report as the same time as NHK.

Sorry if my explaination is confusing as well...lolz

I'm kind of confused myself. It sounded like they got upset because the PR person at the agency mistakenly denied none of the Johnny's were going to host but NHK came out and the announcement of Arashi was made and that upset them because with the media personnel coming from different media agencies, they were all vying for exclusive coverage of the announcement of which Johnny it was going to be but it didn't happen because NHK decided to do a press conf instead (like that was the agency's fault since isn't NHK the one who decide and pick who gets to do the hosting, not Johnny, so why would you expect Johnny to let the media have exclusive coverage to announce it when it's in NHK's ballpark?). Anyway, as far as I can see, it's all administrative issues for the agency to resolve, not Arashi, who seem to be brought into these little admin issues anyway. Arashi is a musical group with entirely different agendas and schedules to create music, do variety shows, radio programs, dramas, etc., not manage the problems with the agency's PR department. The PR person probably shouldn't have denied anything and could have simply better handled the situation if it was true, but at the same time, the media needs to get over themselves that getting an exclusive over something as major an announcement as whose going to host the Kohaku white team, is not gonna happen, especially as NHK was the one who made the final call anyway, and a press conf was probably in the best interests of everyone.

...Of course, I could be entirely wrong. 8p LOL(Sorry, it's been a long day, and I'm tired of these little quibbles with the media when all I want to do is continue to celebrate Arashi's hosting of Kohaku.)

I'm not too upset over the media's exclusivity problems when at least a quarter of the time they're the ones creating it themelves for Arashi and the fans.

i think the article is saying that on nov 3 before the official announcement was made, the reporters was tipped off the day before that the host of white team is from Johnny's agency. They enquire from the PR person of Johnny's agency whether it is Arashi, Inohara or Nakai, somehow the PR person denied to all. Few hours later NHK sent out a fax to all media press to inform who the hosts are, and on it was Arashi's name clearly written and also there will be press conference for all the media at 5pm.

The reporters were all enraged that Johnny's denied the chance for them to get the first hand scoop. If every press gets to be informed all at the same time, it will be pointless to cover this news. while it may be true that Johnny's has an influence but the media is being put down and treated with contempt. As one would expect, they trampled on the meaning of existence of the official media that they always use. Reporter to raged says that "i will do absolute revenge" during this while Johnny's talent might possibly take note of scandals of them

scoops are somewhat vital for reporters, but i really don't think Johnny's is entirely at fault..Kouhaku is by NHK, so i guess it's just right that the announcement will be made by them..

I swear they could all take a page off of Arashi's relationship and learn a thing or two. And I find it funny we're here dealing with political, Johnny-level issues and the media's problems when we should be simply worrying about simple fan-related problems, like downloads, or CD singles. LOL XD Such nice simple problems... 8p

seriously im so sick with all the drama regarding the medias vs Johnny T_T
the boys keep being thrown in this whole messed and they are the victim here...
it is not even their fault that the PR decide to hide the MC result and now the media is announcing wars against the JE boy which is just stupid when the boys don't even do anything:(
JE might have an agreement with NHK not to release the result before them but the PR could have handle the thing better than this..
and Weekly Bunshu seriously like a virus for JE, they never know when to let go and keep attacking Je with any dirt they got no matter how small it is...
what pissed me of is they are using a dead girl name and past who should have been let rest in peace to attack JE and using a lame many years ago scandal to bring them down which is super stupid..those company have nothing better to do than thinking about JE everyday lol and wasting their time to ruin other people life T_T
i hope JE will never lose to those butthurt medias, well i don't really care of JE but i am worried of Arashi reputation keep getting trampled by those idiot:(
