can you blame him though? Apparently the fans in Canada behaved REALLY badly in vancouver, so personally I'm not surprised. And on top of that, he had a very tight schedule etc....not really sure where you were when this happened, but if it was the airport then....yeah, that could be why, but given how crazy everything was when he first arrived, he probably wouldn't want to trigger any fan reactions like say if it were some other place, if he nod or waved then the fan will probably squeal and stuff, and seriously, he probably didn't want to attract attention.

Just because you as a fan want your favorite celebrity to do something, doesn't mean it's going to get done and you're going to get what you want, especially as from the other translation of this same article, there were supposedly other fans there. If that was the case, you're not going to be singled out from someone else and get what you want, especially as this man was on a mission filming a project and he's on a tight schedule. If you're going to see Sho-kun, give him due courtesy and respect his space. Consider it a privilege, not a God given right to get close to him just because you're a fan. When he's filming, he's there as an actor. There's a time and place for idols to be with their fans, like concerts, and filming locations are not appropriate times to ask for something he's otherwise too preoccupied to do.

Just because A-san 'heard' something doesn't mean it's true. A-san is making a personal judgment call based on a rumor she heard herself.

This shows A-san followed him to more than one place. Normal human reaction is that if a celebrity reacts to you negatively the first time, any reasonable person would stop following him or get a clue he's too preoccupied. Yet A-san persists with her attempts anyway. This article tells me (1) she's done this multiple times, (2) Sho-kun wouldn't react negatively unless he thought there was a justified reason for doing so or he was trained as a junior, like the person who took a picture of him even though they knew they're not supposed to, and (3) she's persistent despite his earlier clues the first time she visited him that he was busy filming or too preoccupied with whatever was going on in his mind.

This is indirect testimony; A-san didn't say she actually witnessed any spitting herself and the magazine using a 'witness' like 'tv people' is not the first time. There was another rumor article of when Ohno went to hang out with Ryo and that particular magazine used a 'tv person' witness too. When Ohno was with Ryo, they were on their private time, way late at night, in some nameless street in big city like Tokyo, and a 'tv person' just happened to be there? Also, how did A-san, an ordinary fan probably there with other fans, get close enough to talk to the 'tv people' who are supposed to be doing their jobs there in the first place? And is this what A-san said or the actual magazine themselves stating this? Because it's not clear who exactly is quoting the 'tv people' here.

Now the magazine is using the internet as evidence. World of rumor, fanfiction, and all manner of untruths, where trolls hide behind their computers. Those are two separate things and one does not have to do with the other.

From what other Arashi fans are commenting, apparently this is when Arashi was not even popular, or else it's yet another old, old story, the magazine is once again regurgitating from their past. We've seen this trick before.

Thank you for that. :) Just a thought, but if they're reportedly respectful to the staff, why wouldn't this be any different with the fans, especially as all their end of concert messages that Yamakaze has been translating in the MCs for us have reflected the same? :)

I don't like those stupid rumors because it's so easy for journalis to ruin a career the guys built for a long time!
The umbrella case is real but it happened looooooooong time ago! I think it was when Sho was still going to school (and I still think this story is damn funny XD) Also he didn't just throw the umbrella but also explained her what she did wrong.
Now about ignoring fans. He's my ichiban and I won't deny that maybe I'm not neutral but I think I understand him. He's the busier from Arashi and has different roles: idol for Arashi, actor (ex: Yattaman promotion) and newscaster for Zero. Having fans screaming is name is normal when he's in location for Arashi, but as a newscaster?...I will find it weird if I see some young women screaming "Mister ROSELMAAAAACK" in the street (a well known french newscaster) @_@ Sakurai always prooved that he achieved many things not because he's an idol but because he worked hard...some fans may have forgotten about it.

Also I don't think he does it because he's a badass. I remember that during their (was it the last day?) Kokuritsu concert for the 10th anniversary, Sho thanked all the fans outside the stadium for being outside despite the bad weather. Do you think that idols who don't respect their fans would do that? He must be tired and always hearing "SHOOOO-KUUUN" must be boring. As a fan if I see him in the street I would just scream "do your best!" and hope it would make him feel better... Also I read some article mentioning fans bad manners this year during Kokuritsu concert. Nino and Jun even had to ask the fans to be quiet. This is maybe the way the boys had to calm some fans? Idk...

Finally about the spitting thing. I don't know what to think of it. If it's true then it's totally NG! Ignoring is okay, but spitting and insulting are totally bad manners...Or maybe, since the article mentions "gum and spit" Sho just spit his chewing-gum because it wasn't tasty? XD

Any way! Rumors and rumors and untill I don't read one of the boys saying it's true, then it will be simple rumor for me. And tabloids needed some shit about Sho since he was the only one missing in those photo with AV actress.

Personally, i dont really if this rumor is true or not, but just want to say this piece of thought. Japanese idols, stars, are not really used to having close interactions with fans or media, especially those from other countries.. i mean seriously. They're not used to media and fans following them all the time, because in Japan that rarely happens and Japanese people do not do that. Japanese are very 'private' people, in general, and they do not really want to be noticed or talked about. I remember, there was news about Horikita Maki who was then in Taiwan or China doing promotions. The media and some fans got a bit disappointed that she didn't stay further after the presscon and did not respond to follow up questions. She just left immediately. At the airport, she also didnt greet the fans who waited for her and her head bowed down until she get to the car. It was explained later that in Japan, they never do that. I think the general policy is that they should respect each other's privacy, or maybe Japanese idols are not used to 'different attitudes of media and fans' in other countries and do not know how to react.

Oh well, i know that we all respect each other's view here and that's awesome. We all love arashi that's why we discuss. hehe :-)

unlike the korean, taiwan and western stars who are so used to being hoarded by the media and public and are so experienced at smiling and giving fan service under all circumstances (Eg. SNSD was all smiley and waving to everyone when they arrived in japan's airport despite being almost bare face with messy hair), the japanese are much more private and low key and they seldom do that. i find it kinda weird at first but i guess it has got to do with cultural differences, though i wish they would open up more lol

My personal thoughts about the rumor are, whether Sho was rude or he wasn't, it was his off time. He (and the rest of Arashi) have jobs as entertainers...when they're not working, they're not under obligation to stay "on" y'know. I mean if it's true, (I think he probably did ignore/was rude to some fans, but the reports are exaggerated like hell because I don't think any reports coming from Cyzo are ever all that truthful), then I can't be mad really. If I worked the hours he did, I'd be pissed off a lot of the time too.
