Arashi’s Ohno is in New York?

It has been reported that the leader of the wildly popular group Arashi, Satoshi Ohno, has been spotted in New York! He is reportedly in the Big Apple celebrating his 30th birthday with pop artist Yoshitomo Nara.
Ohno, a man of many talents and interests, sat down with Nara as part of a TV project last year to discuss art. Nara is currently holding an exhibit in New York’s Asia Society Museum, titled “Nobody’s Fool”, which is where Ohno might have visited on his trip.
Yoshitomo’s official Twitter account had a series of tweets on November 28th that confirmed Ohno’s presence in New York, also mentioning his visit to the exhibit and his birthday as well.

Date: 2010-12-01 02:27 am (UTC)for that matter, how many girls would actually love ohno's art if it weren't him making it? obviously there are exceptions, but as an art student i can tell you that the general public does NOT generally appreciate surreal/abstract art. honestly, those little clay figures he makes.. if it were some unknown artist, would people care as much?
all i'm saying is people should make an effort to appreciate the works for what they are. not just because of who they're made by, or who is associated with the artist. that's NOT what art is about.

Date: 2010-12-01 04:11 am (UTC)but at the end of the day, what's important is that everyone was able to experience (or to be enchanted by) art regardless if they're just mere fangirls or a highbrow art people.
and this friendship between them two is really precious, i remember watching a dialogue between them at that was the only time Ohno said something sensible (at least on tv) which is very rare and it left a deep impression to me.. (uwaaa yamete! nakunai yo...lol)
btw, Ume Kayo is a perfect example of a Ohno fangirl/Artist. :)
