Jun and Nino fanart

Hey all, I'm a relatively new fan of Arashi and have been obsessively painting their fanart lately (although they only consist of Nino and Jun so far...). Anyway, thought I'd share them with fellow fans, cheers :)


Jun, painted on 2007-03-24, 2007-03-25, and 2007-04-01 respectively.



Nino, painted on 2007-04-01 and 2007-04-08. Nino is hard to draw well, so I'm just going to keep trying =)

Nino and Jun both have really unique lips and Nino especially has a unique nose... taihen desu ne...

ah I didn't see that Green nino on the far right yet...I like that one a lot. Major good job on the mouth!

Thank you! Yes, I've just completed the green Nino not long ago =)
Yes, both of them do have rather unique lips but Jun has a classic beauty look (the diva look lol), where as Nino's look can be a bit strange (but charming nonetheless), and he has a puppy look - his unique nose kind of contributes to that too ^^;

The third painting of Nino is REALLY amazing. At first glance, I thought it was a real picture of him.
I like the first one of MatsuJun, too.

I'm not an artist, so this may not sound like much, but AMAZING job on the paintings!!

I like the last Nino painting best =D It looks very... Nino. XD I think you really managed to capture him well there, even though you say he's hard to draw ♥

I admire the control you have over traditional media! ♥ I try my best at them, but I usually stick to digital paintings. It's easier to control. XD

Could you tell me what media you used exactly? :3 *curious*

Thank you, that's very encouraging :) Nino is indeed hard to draw, I want to achieve to a stage where I can just draw Nino free of references and still 'feel' like Nino even if the picture not looking exactly like Nino, that's a challenge I think.

Re the traditional media, I tend to use ink, markers, watercolours, acrylic. The last nino painting was done in acrylic.
I can't use digital paintings at all, I've got no patience and don't feel like I'm actually "drawing" if using digital media but that's just me ^^;
I'm interested to see your digital paintings of Arashi though =)

I'm glad! =D Yes, that's I think the ultimate stage of fanart- being able to draw it without reference but still have the feel of it. But I still always use references for my paintings, and usually hold on to them too tight (^^;;)

Essentially, there's not much difference between painting digital or traditional. People tend to think there are special 'tricks' to make art look better in digital art, but that's not the case. You just draw like you would traditionally. The only things I prefer is that, well like I said, slightly more control over where the paint comes and less mess to clean up XD

I haven't painted Arashi yet (^^;;) They're still only planned. (because KAT-TUN has eaten my soul)

I want to paint Jun soon, though. There's something special about his face, I think.

Hmm, dunno, I can't really paint digitally either... but maybe with a table it's easier? ^^

Oh, and Jun DOES have a special face, ne? Like... on some photos he looks like himself, and on others, he TOTALLY doesn't! I think thats kinda weird but cute X3
