EDIT (Additional Info): Johnny & Associates donates 2000 liters of diesel fuel (Read Details Below)

Johnny's cancels concerts and is ready to lend out trucks and power-supply vehicles to Northern Japan.

On March 15th, entertainment agency Johnny & Associates announced that all planned domestic concerts by their artists in March have been canceled. Instead, the transport and power unit trucks normally used for these live performances will be lent to disaster-stricken areas in Japan, free of charge.

In total, 18 performances by 6 artists have been canceled. Cancelled this month are TOKIO, Tackey & Tsubasa, Hey! Say! JUMP, Johnny’s Jr., Kansai Johnny’s Jr. with Yuma Nakayama, and Tomohisa Yamashita (NEWS).  As well as this, Koichi Domoto’s stage show “Endless SHOCK” has cancelled shows for the rest of March.

At every concert, Johnny’s uses several 10-ton transport trucks and a few electric power unit trucks. The agency has a contract in place with truck companies for these, but since the concerts have been canceled, they announced, “If it can help with the disaster relief in stricken areas, we are prepared to lend them out for emergency transport and supplementing electricity … [For example,] transporting material aid, and providing electricity to hospitals…

Food transport and power shortage are big problems at the affected areas, and Johnny’s says they will consider requests by local authority groups involved in the relief effort for the trucks.

-------------------------------

Johnny & Associates will be donating 2000 liters of diesel fuel for disaster relief, in addition to the trucks they are providing to earthquake-affected areas.

The fuel being donated this time had been purchased in advance for Yamashita Tomohisa’s Sapporo concerts on March 18th and 19th. Johnny’s has canceled all of their March performances, so the agency decided to put the newly-available fuel to good use.

The donation meets the dire need for gasoline and diesel fuel in stricken-areas, as many oil refineries had been destroyed in the disaster.

In addition, more details have been released regarding the vehicles the agency is lending out. A total of five 11-ton transport trucks and two 300-kilowatt generator vehicles, currently situated in Tokyo and Sapporo, are ready to be lent out, and drivers have also been secured. Johnny’s will work out further details once a request is made by affected areas.

This is great.
This is just one proof how in times of adversity, unity is the best solution.
Providing a helping hand made me love Johnny-san and the people in Johnny's who are part of this movement more.
Equality shows in times of catastrophe, for neither rich or poor maybe saved when natural disasters strike.
I am so proud of J&A.
At least they're doing something, right?:D

I really don't know what to say. I am in Vietnam and keep watching the news about what is happening in Japan and to my favorite artists. Good news like this are replacing the pain and misery for the disaster. Japanese people, yes I mean the whole country is sticking together to help each other. That is what I love about not only ARASHI and Johnny's but the whole land. Gambare, Nippon.

this is such great news! i keep hearing news about how supplies can't reach victims in tsunami hit areas due to a lack of transportation and poor road conditions, so i'm hoping that the trucks JE is donating will be put to good use and be able to bring the much needed food, water, medical supplies and etc to those who really need it right now!!

This is great news. Money is definitely a handy resource but having the actual tangible aid is what they need the most right now.

Really nice to see Japan uniting with their utmost efforts.

(though not gonna lie I somehow pictured these trucks as being plastered with images of Johnny's... like the Matsujun one in HMA)

This is so much better than money! It's help u can actually see. With money I have seen charities (like American Red Cross for example) steal 75% of the money goes missing/is stolen. (if u google it it was in the news sadly it actually did happen with that charity)

For all the money that Johnny regularly siphons off of us, it's great to know our beloved money contributes to the disaster relief. The fact that a huge company like Johnny's is helping out just increases my respect for them triple-fold. <3
