6th day since that nightmare. I have thought a lot these days. This is time we get together to be strong. cooperate for others. and get back to have simple life, and appreciate how happy we are. some situation gets betters (oil factory start working, some highway recovered so starts aid delivery)
situation critical: nuclear plant. but still in Tokyo we have very few radiation. so don’t get panic about it. All of nuclear specialists all over the world come to Japan to solve this problem.
Yesterday I have been to Shinjuku area. I felt so strange however such big city all close at 6pm. At Yamanote-line there’re fewer people. and night of Roppongi street very few car (this hardly happens only at new year day) and many vehicles actually queuing on the street to get petrol. (please save petrol for victim area!)
damage area there’re 330K refugee, these day they have sever cold weather. I pray hard they pull through.がんばれ！

update at 23:20, radiation level in Tokyo, Kanto area is very few, this doesn’t effect to your body at all. I know overseas media react too badly. but situation is not very serious like Chernobyl. what government took action today is pouring water from air. but it doesn’t work. then pouring water from land, water reached inside of most critical plant. hope they keep doing this. I keep telling, we are safe now.

when i watched the news and TV at least it gives me a sense of being companion with Japan, share the pain that you have to endure... so please just stay safe and be strong, keep the faith that because you're not alone Japan, because we're here.....
I believe that Japan will overcome this disaster. A free Japan has come up from the rubble after World War 2 and just 50 years after became powerful country in the world ....so there is no reason you can not overcome this, because because you really are human resilience and solidarity that :)

Another thing, I'm wondering how people in Japan react towards the nuclear radiation?
People in China are panicking and buying a lot of salt, so now the salt is very pricey. I don't know why but it has something to do with the nuclear radiation. Since people here are panicking (even though we're quite far from there), I'm wondering what happens in Japan....

i think some country is acting more like the victim than people in Japan themselves who is more positive and still able to live a normal life...
that is why my respect to japan have skyrocket to the maximum level with the way the handle this situation<3
no matter how hard it is but everyone work together, stay positive and calm, helping each other, start to move on with their life, giving strength to other people eventhough they also consider the victim and many more^^

Date: 2011-03-17 08:34 pm (UTC)I am also still in Tokyo, and I plan on staying for as long as possible. The Japanese people are the calmest in this case, and have more hope. After Chernobyl, and after the atomic bombs, I think this is minor compared to those events. Because there are preventative measures right now. The ones in true danger are the ones who are working on saving the plant, and I admire them for their bravery and sacrifice for the people's well-being.
Most foreigners I know have ran, and have told me I am going to die from staying here. There is no direct correlation being radiation and cancer, AND radiation is a low-grade carcinogen (something that can cause cancer more easily) compared to say, a pack of cigarettes. I believe in science (having and still am studying science), and will stand by it no matter what these over-sensationalised media say.
