they put the akb show against VSA because it is the show to beat in that timeslot(i think) and during 7-8pm thursdays, arashi don't work for NTV, they work for FujiTV. It's all about ratings, and if VSA don't step up their game (literally, figuratively), we'll soon read of headlines like "AKB BEATS ARASHI AGAIN!" and that'll be just the tip of the iceberg.

but look at the sticky post on top of this community,of what arashi has influenced their fans in doing; of today's news on how victims in Sendai request arashi songs to feel better.

arashi is made of win;not just in ratings, not just in cd sales, not just in rankings. i hope the fans who don't see this come to the realization soon.

yeah today mood is pretty bad but Arashi always manage to make me happy no matter what...
i just watch HnA112 that sub by ST just now and make me laugh so much...
those boys never fail to make me happy<3

well i know things like rating is not important for us fans just that for those producer or higher u it is important since the life of the show depend on the rating especially they are on golden slot now so that is why im a little worry about their new rival since i don't want any of their show to get cancel^^;
though im sure if they replace Arashi show with other people i don't think they can easily get good result as Arashi...
Vs Arashi is great show so would hate to see that one dissappear but i do want them to improve with new games or something..
though i don't mind they change HnA format to a better one since the show is too mentally challenging and pretty shallow..
i missed the epic older show like MMA, D,G no Arashi and Arashi no Shukudai which such an awesome show<3

well i don't know about the new or casual fans they have now, maybe most of them would get bored with Arashi keep beating other artist since there is no surprise...

but i can say the loyal fans that have follow the boys for long time even before their breakthrough or already their fans during their not selling that much time would still be loyal and happy with whatever achievement Arashi have...
all of them is just too precious<3

for me right now i will enjoy all of the thing they offer to us fans and all the achievement they get...
this moment is precious and i know someday they will no longer be popular as now and might going back to only releasing 1 or 2 single a year and we can't see them as much anymore...
so i want to treasure every moment they have now and i don't care if people say they are overrated or overexposed, as long as the boys are happy and doing what they do best..
whatever happen in the future i will still be there for them as their fans supporting them...
and im sure they have their loyal fanbase that will stick by them for a long time..

I've started to get tired of the boys losing all the time and I think many fans share my sentiments. Are the boys too tired to do well, are they deliberately losing, do they suck at the games, or do the plus ones suck? I get irritated at how the plus ones get to play more often than the boys.

Regarding the AKB show, all's fair in love and ratings. All stations want good ratings. So regardless of NTV's relationship with Arashi, they would still want to win against them. Kinda feel bad though that the premise of the AKB sho is so similar to A no Arashi/Odoroki no Arashi. This makes an Arashi-Ogu-san reunion in a new Odoroki so much more remote.

honestly,and this is just my opinion, i just read the comments after VSA and then if i think it's interesting, i'd watch it.

i have theories, you can agree/disagree:
1. 1-hr is too much, 30mins ok.
2. they're running out of interesting guests (i don't know about Japanese tv, but must the guests really be celebrities? they can't include average people?)
3. why is there a plus-one in the first place?
4. the games have gotten old
5. audience want to watch new blood (i.e. akb doing experiments)

and if the premise of the akb show is really similar to AnoArashi, then it'll be a hard hit since AnA was shown late night while akb's will be on golden time, so more people can watch it and assume it's original.

OMG!!! I agree so much!!
I really enjoyed it when it was 30 mins only
also I don't like how they have one plus guest too. I found VSA is interesting whenever they have comedians in there. I have missed a lot episodes since it changed to golden time. I don't why, it should be more interesting with more time we can see the boys but it turns out otherwise. I found that I always don't look forward to VSA and I feel bad about it.
(ah, and one more thing, in my opinion only, I don't like their outfits most than often :( )

i think they are very tired as well and Vs Arashi those take a lot of energy...
i don't think they lose deliberately since i can see their disappointment when they lose especially when the score is super close and it would be crazy if they lose on purpose for 8th consecutive time..
yeah does the plus one need to play on every single game?
they seriously need to get rid of the handicaps and just fight fairly with the guest...
i miss the older and original vs arashi which is more fun than this golden slot, maybe it is too long and too many game in 1 ep...

and NTV is always good at making a great variety show so it make me more worry..

seriously if they gonna do this why don't just let Arashi keep the staff and move shukudai to golden slot??
since they still want to do show with their old concept so just let the original people use that concept not giving it to different people...
this seriously pissed me off..

if they want to give AKB a show as a fresh blood or something at least give them a new and fresh concept for a new show and not a complete rip off from Arashi older show which they have done for a long time..
this is not fair for Arashi especially because im sure they have big attachment with A no Arashi and Odoroki no Arashi but suddenly seeing other group copying their show T_T
i remember during last ep of Shukudai that Nino said he still want to work with the staff and maybe doing Odoroki no Arashi again someday but now it pretty much impossible...

well i hope im just overreact here and they just using Shukudai staff but give new format...
i would be disappoint with NTV if they copy exactly like A no arashi when they don't even give a chance for Arashi to do the show in golden slot before except for SP time but instead changing it to a completely different show and staff:(
well for me it will be awkward for Shukudai staff to do the same concept show with totally different group when they have work about 10yrs with Arashi...
well hopefully any of the staff don't have grudge against Arashi because they leave Shukudai for shiyagare and using this as some kind of revenge or something...
really hope they won't copy exactly A no arashi since for me that concept belong to arashi only no matter it is given by NTV which might make my neutral feeling with AKB might turn into dislike even if it is not their fault T_T

ahhhhh why am i so dramatic today when my mood just getting better but instead this news pissed me off more T_T

i know rating is everything for the tv station but i thought at least NTV have good relation with Arashi since the boys have work the longest time at the tv station but this is like backstabbing Arashi in such a cruel way T_T

ok i don't mind for them putting AKB timeslot againt Vs Arashi but using the same concept and staff of Arashi older show for the new show to fight against Arashi themselves is totally such low move on their part T_T

NTV used to be my most favorite channel especially during Mayonaka, C, D, G no arashi and Shukudai...
then i started to dislike them a little after they cancel Shukudai so sudden but i still watch them because of Shiyagare, Kaibutsu-kun and Zoom In...
but now Zoom In is ending and also now they drop the bomb of AKB new show going to follow A no Arashi format making me hate them...
but well there is still Shiyagare making me watch them but NTV already in my dislike list unless they prove me wrong with not copying A no arashi which is actually Aiba's idea in the first place T_T
well no matter what they will never be as epic as Arashi such as the sequel will never ever beat the original :P

I really love the staffs and the director Hino.
They are just funny. After all, they had been working together for 8 years. I just arghhhhhhhhhhh don't know what to say anymore.

I do miss those shows too.
I mean, those shows are what made Arashi the current Arashi they are now.
I wish they'd bring back Arashi to doing those random stuff and being grandsons and childminders rather than playing the same old games such as in VsA.
It had been entertaining but I think somehow, it has lost its charm.
I love Arashi so much but I watch VsA just out of pure love and sometimes, I don't watch it at all cause it's kind of boring.
I think Arashi is better with random stuffs and outdoor shootings.
They seem to enjoy those more compared to being caged in a studio.
I wish they'd bring those shows back.
Those shows show their personality the best and we can see that they are real person because they get pissed, emotional, happy, etc in those shows without worrying what the viewers might think.

yeah such a waste to their childminder license they only got to use it a few time and MMA is one of their best show<3
yeah they totally enjoy outdoor location more, doing random stuffs and interacting with normal non-celebrities people^^
i love VsA but yeah lately it really getting boring when it start so great:(
and hnA really getting boring as well as too shallow but i do enjoy watching for Arashi bakaness xD
Shiyagare sometime is good but sometime really boring depending on the guest most of the time which is why i prefer Shuudai much much more even it is not a big budget golden show but pure of cracks and awesome stuffs which let Arashi being more awesome<3

but nowadays they really can only do studio shooting only when they used to go outdoors a lot which is such a pity when they are happier and funnier having more freedom to random stuffs before..
well that is the price of fame^^;

i missed the older show sooooooooo much T_T
lately i keep rewatching again Shukudai, MMA, childminder, D, g no Arashi and really have different feeling from current show :P
golden time slot only giving pressure to them...
Arashi can't really do everything...
beside them the show also depend on the staffs, concept, interesting topic etc and if the concept of their show can't attract the viewer it not entirely Arashi fault only..
yeah i want those shows back:(

Other factors that come into play tho are their schedules being much tighter than before, so outdoor shooting is also not as plausible. I believe the formula of Shiyagare was invented so that the boys have less to worry about (in terms of content) for the shows. And also in general they reserve the "fresher concepts" for "younger" artists...

I share the same sentiments that the concepts before are "better", and I hope staffs will revise the concepts better and make it less guest-dependant and rely more on Arashi magic.

But I think we should be thankful we still got so many shows of Arashi to watch. Even now just the feeling of the two regulars on Thurs not airing this week feels so empty already. We can treat their old shows as past "eras" as the boys mature, ne? :D

well no matter what i said at the end i still never miss watching any of their show lol and still looking forward for them every week anyway xD
and i hope none of their show would get cancel anytime soon, maybe just improve their concept more and like you said please rely more on arashi magic since it feel late most of their show depend on the guest mostly^^;
well at least HnA is better now with having Arashi doing many things and focus mostly on them and also try to experiment different segment as well though VIP Room and M5 still dominate...
though i actually prefer the childminder ep the most, just hoping they could bring it back once in a while because Arashi+kids is LOVE<3

i do think Shiyagare is getting better lately and the boys seem much more natural doing the show now^^
but i do hope they could get rid of the segment when they just looking at the footage and pretend walking because that part is really boring and waste of time when they always cut good part..

and hopefully Vs Arashi would improve more and less losing and handicaps would be better and prefer no plus one guest :p

I miss MMA and C/D/G no Arashi because THEY GOT TO INTERACT WITH NORMAL PEOPLE. It really showed how charming the guys are.

Also, A no Arashi was Aiba-chan's idea. I can't believe Shukudai staff would be so willing to give it away... :( But then again, I doubt they can make it as interesting and hilarious as Aiba-chan's experiments. LMAO!
