Ooku-- detailed movie summary

I'm not sure how many people are interested in this (if any) but I thought that since the Ooku movie was spoken in older Japanese, I found it to be a little bit harder to understand. I'm really only good with modern day Japanese and I'm just going to assume that most of the Arashi fandom in general is. But everyone likes to enjoy movies that are visually pretty and have a good story line, if only they could understand it. Am I right?

I've had a few people ask me to sub the movie but after watching a bit of it I realized I can only understand like 35% of it and that's just a maybe. I'm still learning Japanese and learning older Japanese is not really on my agenda as I'm merely a self study student ^^;;; I'm lucky in the sense that I have the manga right next to me as I watched the movie so I wasn't lost while watching it. I told the people that asked me to sub it that I wasn't going to sub it at all and that I would write a very detailed summary of everything that happens in the movie.

This summary is mostly to further explain things that people might not understand as they watch without subtitles. I'd like to think of it as sort of a "tie-me-down" until there are subtitles made available in english.

Thank you for the detailed summary! I´ve watched the movie, but as you said, I didn´t understand some important sequencies of the story because of the older japanese ^^ Everything makes sense now =D

When Yoshimune dismisses them from service is it also because she feels the need to avoid another "sacrifice" ?

The manga is so good >\\\<

In the manga she says that she's dismissing them due to financial reasons but that she's dismissing young men because they still have a chance to change their lives. Does this make sense?
