Before I start, I apologize for posting this here-- unfortunately, posting it in the actual community in question would likely get the post deleted and myself banned. As some of you may know, I was one of the maintainers for a_ra_shi. As even fewer of you may know, I was stripped of my status with no warning several days ago.

The entire ensuing drama is long and tedious, and ultimately boils down to an unwarranted action backed by flimsy, equally irrational reasoning. Here are the screencaps of our following email correspondence for those interested:

In short, I apparently should not do anything in the community without the other mods' knowledge and/or agreement despite being a co-founder myself. This, of course, comes after over a year of no activities in the community on their part, and no word from either of them on any of the other posts I've made over said time period. It also apparently warrants the act of removing me as maintainer without the courtesy of a heads-up, the very thing I have been accused of neglecting to do.

Not surprisingly, perhaps, this is soon followed by a mod post about starting up new community activities-- the very same one I had suggested in my original post, and pointing out the flaws in her arguments will only result in a ban, as already experienced by little_bruises, or in the deletion of all comments.

So basically, in layman's terms, I've been kicked out over nothing and the community will be run by phasera and missatralissa from now on.

In any case, I've also provided several things of interest in this post to stay on topic. First, I haven't posted here in a long while but I've done a fair share of translations since then (including several subbed clips), and you can check them out by either browsing through the Arashi tags or the memories.

It looks like summer's heat is messing up people's brains, as many problems have been rising lately concerning fans and communities of JE. People need to calm down and talk things out instead of resorting to extreme language and measures. We're all in this to have fun watching persons who want to spread joy and love in the world. Why it turns into hate and arguments is really beyond me.

ames_909, I couldn't possibly know how you're feeling right now. But I'm sure there are many persons that appreciated your efforts. i posted this in care_chan, and i wanted you to read it because, though i only jumped into this mess, i just want to say i salute and support you ^___^

i took a stand and left the comm... lol ^____^ am not supposed to be affected since am just a member, but it just pains me to see something that should be friendly and healthy turn really fugly... i could continue on in that comm since i haven't really contributed to the fandom, but if that's the sort of environment it's only maintainer is cultivating, then i don't think that comm is for me who wants to just enjoy fangirling about my boys...

it might sound unfair because i don't know the other side well... but the idea that you would unreasonably remove somebody from being a maintainer WITHOUT a heads up AND claiming that person's idea as your own is just a load of bullshit...

like winkychan, i do hope ames_909 will start a new arashi fan community that would foster a healthy environment because i support her case, and if she does, then i'll jump immediately into that comm ^____^

That is AWFUL. And I totally feel for you. I've been power tripped on recently too, though not nearly as bad! I am so angry on your behalf! XD

I felt an overwhelming need to quit that community due to this incident (though, unfortunately, no one will miss my membership at all, so it's not enough to make a point, lol).

I'm sorry this had to happen, because I know what it feels like to be power tripped on, but I really have to admire you for the way you handled it. I certainly was unable to be so articulate and polite when it happened to me. XD
