Tickets and CDs question
Oct. 12th, 2011 07:03 pmHey!
I have some questions for the Arashi fans that are living/lived in Japan. I just moved here and I’m kinda confused. Yeah, I know it seems stupid to ask here rather than asking in a shop, but my japanese is not the best, so I have a hard time understanding some stuff.
First of all, how can you buy the first press editions of Arashi’s CDs/DVDs in Japan? I guess you can’t find them in shops ( or can you? ). In my country I used to preorder from YesAsia, but as I’m here now, I’m thinking it has to be an easier way.
Secondly, I went to Gorakudoh in Harajuku to ask if they have an Arashi ticket for January, and they said something about 2 weeks and gave me a paper with their website. I didn’t understood what they said ( though I asked them to repeat a few times >.< ) Anyone ever bought tickets from there? Do you have any idea what about “two weeks” can it be? To come two weeks before the concert/two weeks from now or…?
Also, did anyone ever bough an Arashi ticket from Gorakudoh under 80.000 yen?
I would be very grateful for any answer!

Date: 2011-10-12 02:06 pm (UTC)As for first press editions, once the release date has been announced, you can usually pre-order them at music stores. Tsutaya, for example, has a wall of pre-order slips for things that will be released soon.

Date: 2011-10-12 02:58 pm (UTC)Gorakudoh only deals with the sale of physical tickets. Right now, people only know if they hit for a ticket via the ballot or not. They don't have the actual physical ticket yet. Tickets will be mailed to ballot winners about 2 weeks before the concert. Once the tickets have been mailed out, then they will start appearing for sale at Gorakudoh. I highly doubt you will see any priced at 80000yen or below given that the going rate for a ticket is about 120000yen right now. Also, since none of the remaining venues are in Tokyo, Gorakudoh will probably have a limited selection of tickets and the fewer tickets available for sale, the higher the prices tend to be.

Date: 2011-10-12 03:05 pm (UTC)I do recommend you preorder albums and DVD as soon as you can. I also recommend that you get your CDs from Tower where they have an awesome point card system.
Good luck with getting tickets! Tokyo Dome will be the most expensive and I don't doubt that the Harajuku stores will be selling the few they have for about 150,000 each. For 3rd floor...

Date: 2011-10-12 11:05 pm (UTC)My sister and I got REALLY lucky when we got tickets there: 2 tickets for 5x10 in Tokyo Dome in the first level stands, 10th row for ¥150,000 (¥75,000 each). When we asked about the tickets, they immediately took the tickets to the manager 'cause I think they marked the price incorrectly. After some pleading, they eventually gave us the tickets for the low price, haha. All the other tickets in the first level stands were almost ¥100,000 EACH. So yeah, we totally lucked out that time.
Good luck to you :] So jealous of you for living there~

Date: 2011-10-13 10:22 am (UTC)gorakudoh is probably one of the most expensive places you can try to buy a ticket from, but they are the safest. There are cheaper tickets on mixi or auction but you might get swindled if you are not careful, and it requires you to know Japanese. Gorakudoh will not have January con tickets because we FC members don't have them yet. if you are trying to go to a Tokyo venue show, they tend to lower the prices the closer it gets to the show day/time.
Good luck!

Date: 2011-10-13 03:04 pm (UTC)What I usually do is go to Tower Records and make a preorder with a preorder slip that's usually ready at the counters, then pick it up on Tuesday nights (or any day after the release, if I don't have the time). There's no extra charges and you don't have to pay any deposit amount when preordering.
As for tickets, I bought Tokyo Dome tickets for 5x10 from Gorakudoh once. Arena was about 100,000yen and stands was 80,000yen. Of course, now that they're much more popular it's bound to be higher than this! It's probably the most expensive thing I will ever buy in life but it was worth every single yen. I was lucky I was on a scholarship or I would never have the chance since I have never hit ANY ballot in life!
Good luck and enjoy Japan, it's a magical place :)

Date: 2011-10-15 04:38 am (UTC)And Hokkaido...might be cheaper, but as I live in Tokyo, the train ticket will probably be more expensive as the concert one, so it isn't worth it.
Thanks for the answer <3
