I'm pretty sure the reason why they have to change Arashi have nothing to do with the CM ranking though.
The real reason is AU want to change from Adroid phone and focus on new direction (Iphone if I'm not wrong) from now on. But Arashi always have a strong image of Adroid phone. So they have no choice but to replace Arashi. I think even AU don't really want to do this.

I don't know, I kinda agree it may not be the sole reason, and that your point is good and may be a part of the rason...but they also have been doing them for quite a long time already ( maybe not as much as SMAP and Softbank though) and this ranking may have made them changed it too ? They need to stay at top whatever the means (or person moreover) they use.

Anyway, there's still no official info from AU, I think we need to wait until the press conference on 16th to confirm this rumor though.

Doesn't matter if they switch CM characters or not, AU should look over their CM concept..

I think they've used Arashi the wrong way these years. No one but their fans care about the cool commercials Au's been releasing lately, what the MASS wants is something comical! They had all the potential in the world to even make it to the number 1 spot on the CM ranking with the popularity Arashi's been having these years if they had just used it the right way!

Not saying that they should not switch from Arashi, but nothing is Arashi's or Gaga's fault as the article make it sound like, it's AU's naive thinking that a popular celebrity equals popularity no matter the concept of the CM that pisses me off!
