I see you mean radi- friend right? I get on well with my radio -friend. he he he. we get a long too much, just like fun. really we are so similar. almost, me, food matches. I like hot food. me, and he like hot food too. when 2 go to have dinner, we go to hot pot restaurant. that restaurant recommendation, chicken bone soup, this is hot pot. this is main, they 2 look at menu, turning pages. in the end so spicy hot pot written. we order this first then. we go this restaurant often. since then we don't order since then, that recommendation food.  he he he. currently it comes "usual one" he he he. but only one thing is different. rather say different. my radi- friend is weak at Japanese sake. he he he, I recently noticed it. once we went to Sushi restaurant. we started chat, then came to "let's have Japanese sake" then "really?" then "Kanpai!" we drank. he suddenly got drunk. he started to talk a lot. he says "me, I'm bad at Japanese sake." (in osala dialect) "this is so yummy!"  he say, it  came to going out of style. since then I like let him have Japanese Sake, "Oh, I enjoy it" (Osaka dialect" he says, it's fun. I will let you know when I have new discovery of my radio friend.

since 2008, tabloids have been predicting the dissolution of smapxsmap; it's 2012 now and it's still airing.

FujiTV right? If they want to give arashi a 2-hr show, maybe they should think about opening VSArashi to the public--have common people play against Arashi instead of repetitive comedians. That will bring them closer to the people as they once did, endear them to the masses, and give a new feel to an already stagnant show.

i saw Fuji and since they have VSA for that network and it's actually bringing in decent ratings, i went with that. Also, the idea of playing games with their favorite idols, it'll give a 'they're one of us' vibe, not unlike when arashi went to their homes and became grandsons for a day.

Fuji TV needs to go back to doing something like to Mago Mago Arashi. I love that show to pieces. for a group who rose to the top because (as survey says) people can identify themselves with them and admires them for not giving off the usual idol aura, Arashi being more and more isolated in studios now is saying a different thing. that's just my opinion, of course.

I have the same opinion as you. I love watching the low budget shows such as MMA, CnA, DnA, GnA. Those programs show how down to earth and un-idol-like they are. These are the reasons why I fell in love with them. Of course, I fell also in love with their dorkiness too. XD These big budget shows and isolation into studios gives me the vibe that because now Arashi is so big and popular the only people they can interact with are celebrities. This is just my feeling when I watch their current shows. I hope the TV networks/production team and Arashi will realize that the reason why they became big was because of how people identify them as being un-idol-like. And they should capitalize on that.

I like this idea except that Fujitv might just be afraid that regular people won't make it entertaining and it's harder to joke with regular people if Arashi don't know them from somewhere. It'll be politeness all the way around. Honestly, I like the comedians than the boring actors with no fun.

imagine how the stoic Matsujun or sarcastic Nino will deal with some hyper contestants who could be your neighbor, the local grocer, or your kids' school bus driver. oh the lolz that would bring ;)

a new twist on MMA will certainly be golden since we all agree Arashi has their special way with people (oh to see Aiba giving massages again). But there are way more factors now to consider, including leaving enough energy in the members for the next shoot, for the other tv networks. i thought if you can't bring Arashi to the people, maybe Fuji can bring the people to Arashi.

I'm hoping they don't cancel SMAPxSMAP. Because of SMAPxSMAP, I began to appreciate the other members of SMAP, not just Kimura Takuya and Nakai-san. D:

Though, I'm actually hoping that Kanjani8 gets the SMAPxSMAP spot. I really miss watching them on TV, and I only see Hina on NTV's TORE!! sometimes, which isn't enough for me. ;_;

Besides, I really don't want to see VSA end, because VSA and HnA always end up making my day on Thursdays. D:

well for HnA i love the new VIP Limousine because the boys can actually go out and interact with normal people they meet outside while bringing the guest so i totally prefer that then the usual vip room in the studio only..

but the one im having problem is the segment after that, they seem to experiment with different thing such as the restaurant or the A no Arashi kind of segment but it just feel bland and boring, it just feel those segment need all 5 of them but for Limousine i prefer they stick with the segment...
and the M5 segment just feel to weird without the 5 boys together^^;

Am I the only one that thinks VSA is boring and repetitive? They don't change the games often enough. And I think that the boys are too exhausted with their schedules to actually do well in the physical games, which unfortunately are the more interesting ones.

And bringing in normal guests will not help things. Because Arashi are idols they cannot be snarky, teasing and sharp with normal people (which I notice is a hallmark of Japanese comedy), which comedian hosts can, or which they can do with each other or with comedians or celebrity guests. Plus the fact that Arashi is the one going against guests, I do not think they'd be motivated to win as I think they would prefer that the citizen guests to.

And the new VIP guest format (which a lot of people are complaining about, wanting the old VIP format) and Shiyagare's close encounters corner are their means of getting out and being with the public. Unfortunately, being as popular as they are now, doing what they did with MMA or the C/D/G series isn't a feasible thing anymore.

Thanks Yamakaze-san for the updates. And seriously, you should stop worrying about the Arashigoto whenever you are overseas. People deserve a break every once in a while. Have fun yoga-ing and dimsum-ing and people watch-ing in Hongkong! :-)
