Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari is in for a big change as he dyed his hair blond for his upcoming drama in 24-hour TV. The special drama is titled, "Kuruma Isu de Boku Na Sora wo Tobu" (I will fly to the sky on a wheelchair!).

The 28 year-old Johnny's talent will be playing a guy from a broken family who became a delinquent due to lack of proper guidance. After he got crippled at 15-year old, he decided to mend his wrong ways by becoming a counselor and helps to reform those in similar situation as him.

It has been 10 years since Ninomiya have dyed his hair blonde; Ninomiya said in a TV interview that the rest of Arashi members were dumbfounded with his new hair color.

"Kuruma Isu de Boku Na Sora wo Tobu" will air on 24-hour TV starting Aug 25th.

It does not necessarily mean he plays a 15 year old. It simply means, the character he plays is a juvenile delinquent who ended up crippled at the age of 15 for a reason/incident that will be revealed in the film. Because he gets crippled while doing these dodgy things, he deeply regrets being a juvenile delinquent. As such, he wants to help other teenagers/youngsters from mixing with bad company, doing dodgy things, ending as juvenile delinquents etc. Thus, he vows to be a counsellor. I assume the film will trace how he overcomes the prejudice associated with juvenile delinquency even as he tries to reform himself. The film will undoubtedly have some story as to how manages to tenaciously push forward despite his juvenile delinquent past and his disability and he will end up as a counsellor. This training/study to be a counsellor and overcoming difficulties etc can take many years. Fast forward to the present, he is still crippled but is a 20-something year old counsellor helping kids from broken homes ending up as juvenile delinquents, and maybe helping juvenile delinquents to avoid the mistakes he made in his youth. This is an oversimplification of the plot, but it is my general understanding of it.

PS: I think the hair colour is deliberate. In very conservative Asian societies, citizens are taught since youth that they must fit into a certain mould so as to blend in and be "normal" like everyone else. Those rebelling against that might seek to want to stand out deliberately to openly show their opposition to fitting in the mould. Some delinquents or members of teenaged gangs in school might even dye their hair as an open way of flaunting how they dare oppose the system and how no one had better mess with them.

i can't stand this color at all... i stared at these pictures quite some time, but i can't get used to it...
if they wanted it to look that fake, they could have just used a wig for the drama and he could have kept the nice beautiful hair he had before this ;____;

This is just awful... what an horrible color... Pikanchi was definitly better even if it was neither the best haircut nor the best color it was still better than this !
I hope he will put his old color back soon, this color really doesn't suit him. T_T

Somehow, by saying that the arashi members were dumbfounded about his new hair color. My OtP radar is out of control..i would like to say ohno is the most dumbfounded when seeing nino's hair.
I kinda dun like it..too fake? Not natural..yup..look weird on him..looking forwad for it...ganbatte arashi! Get some proper rest!
