Arashi Android / iPad Apps
Jun. 9th, 2012 07:56 pmSo, I've been considering getting a tablet for myself and I've been deciding on whether to get the iPad or the Samsung Galaxy Tab. I know this sounds weird but one of my criteria for selecting my gadget is whether or not it helps me keep up with my fangirling. Haha. That being said, I want to ask if you guys know of any Arashi/Johnny's/Jpop-related apps on both gadgets. Your input would be much appreciated. :)

Date: 2012-06-09 06:59 pm (UTC)First off, Androids can download apps to play different files that iPads can't play. I can play pretty much any Arashi video I get from the fandom.
Both iPads/Pods and Androids have the Johnny's Web in their stores (Play Store and App Store). It works on both, so it doesn't really matter. It's completely in Japanese, except for the menus. You only get to access a tiny bit unless you pay a monthly fee.
Like someone above has said, there's this cool app on Android called Arashi Watch on Android, but it's Japanese and it just shows what's posted on the Media page of the Arashi/JE site (Which is Japanese too).
That's all I have on my phone and iPod. I always liked Apple, but Android really is good for more than just Arashi. I'd suggest getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab, especially if you plan on watching Arashi .mkv files and stuff (which, from what I understand, iPads/Pods can't play without any kind of conversion.) If it works the same way as my phone (Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus), if you install MX Player, which is free, you can watch pretty much all files. You can even put in softsubs and they'll let you play that too.
Good luck!
Hi
Date: 2012-06-09 11:35 pm (UTC)i am working as an Apple iOS technical support so we as pretty much familiar on how the iOS devices works such as iPad, iPod touch and iPhone, however i am also an android user, i have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
if you're gonna ask me...i'll choose an android device over an iOS device because similar to xxeuphemia mentioned, iOS devices still has limitations w/ an android device can absolutely do.
downloading paid apps on an android phone does not require you to "modify" your software unlike on an iOS device that you to JB (JailBreak) it 1st for you to download such apps from "installous".
it's a personal preference but i'd still choose an android device over iOS :)
