Takagi objects taking in Nao who will have difficult medical care. but the expertise of Takumi and Ayumi is positive, in front of 3. Mai Imai, a nurse calls patient. Nao was with her father Masahiko. as Masahiko told he sues the hospital that missed operation as an medical error, Takagi tried to stop Takumi and Ayumi take in Nao. Takumi experiences a worry bout Sakurai father and daughter in different meaning. team starts kicking around medical care of Nao.  診察室の波多野卓巳（相葉雅紀）が橘歩美（多部未華子）を呼んだ。この日、卓巳が診察する患者、櫻井菜穂（小島藤子）は２つの部位に脳動脈瘤を患っていて、ひとつが巨大なために他の医大で手術を受けたが失敗。帝都大学附属病院の脳外科からも治療を断られたため、高度先端医療センターに回されたのだ。    そのため卓巳は脳神経外科医の歩美の意見が知りたかった。卓巳が歩美に菜穂の病状を説明していると高木淳二（田辺誠一）が顔を出す。高木は困難な治療になると菜穂の受け入れに反対するが、卓巳と歩美の見解は前向き。そんな３人の前に、看護師の今井麻衣（江口のりこ）が患者を呼び入れる。    菜穂は父の雅彦（小市慢太郎）に付き添われていた。前回手術を失敗した病院を雅彦が医療ミスで訴えていると口にしたため、高木はますます菜穂の受け入れを卓巳たちに止めさせようとする。しかし、このままでは５年以内に死に至る可能性が高いとストレートに菜穂に告げる歩美は、誰も手術をしなければ自分がやると言い切ってしまう。そんな歩美の熱意に、菜穂も手術を任せたいと応えた。この言葉に卓巳もセンターは患者にとってのラストホープだと受け入れを承諾。だが、歩美は自らも医療ミスで訴えられている。また、卓巳は別の意味で櫻井父娘への懸念を抱いていた。それでも、チームはカンファレンスで菜穂の治療を検討し始める。
