Shinoda suffers from serious brain tumor, and already abandoned treatment at several hospitals. Ayumi Tachibano who is specialized in cerebral surgery was in charge of same case patients, no one was saved. Takumi and Ayumi host Shinoda to the examination room. as soon as they make a diagnosis, they notice the abnormity of his eyes. Shinoda says to Tatsumi and Ayumi he already loses a vision of right eyes and hardly can’t see left eyes. during eye medical care, the brain tumor was found, he was given 2 months to live. already a month past since life expectancy told by a doctor. Shinoda asks if you can cure hisbrain tumor, Ayumi answers honestly “it’s hard to recover completely. Takumi questions about it. at raucous discussion as susual, Masao Soejima proposed method to restore his vision.波多野卓巳（相葉雅紀）たちの高度先端医療センターに、新たな患者が訪ねて来る。その患者は、天才写真家の篠田登志雄（石黒賢）。篠田は重篤な脳腫瘍を患っていて、すでに複数の病院で治療を断念されている。脳外科を専門とする橘歩美（多部未華子）は、篠田と同じ症状の患者を担当したことがあるのだが、助かった患者はいなかった。卓巳と歩美で、篠田を診察室に迎え入れた。診察を始めた途端、卓巳は篠田の目の異常に気づく。篠田は、右目はすでに失明し、左目もほぼ見えなくなっていると言う。また、目の治療の最中に脳腫瘍が見つかり、余命２か月を宣告されたと卓巳たちに伝えた。余命宣告からすでにひと月が経過。脳腫瘍を治せるのかと問う篠田に、歩美は完治が厳しいと正直に応える。それでも余命を伸ばす事は出来ると補足する卓巳。すると篠田も素直に納得した。だが、篠田は命よりも、目の治療を優先して欲しいと２人に依頼する。助からないのなら、もう一度写真家に戻って目の前の風景を切り取り、写真家として最期を迎えたいと…。篠田の治療についてのカンファレンスが始まる。脳の治療を優先して延命すべきか、篠田の希望通り目の治療をするべきか。歩美は脳の手術優先を訴えるが卓巳は疑問を持つ。いつも通り喧々囂々の議論の中、副島雅臣（北村有起哉）が篠田の視力を回復させる手段を提案した。
