RP: Of The Four

In the beginning, Emre created one World.

In this world were Four Kingdoms, each entrusted by Emre with a gem of great power. Each gem was imbued with an element, and its holder can control that element at will. As long as the gems are kept properly, the balance over the Kingdoms remains. If the gems are united together, they will grant the holder the power to rule the whole World.

To the North was given the gem of Earth, with power over vegetation and all its creatures.

To the East was given the gem of Wind, with the power to create and manipulate aspects of the wind and air.

To the South was given the gem of Water. The keeper of this gem has power over every body of water, large or small.

And to the West was given the gem of Fire, arguably the strongest element of all.

The Kingdoms lived in peace for a long time, until the Western Kingdom sought to wage war on its neighbors in an attempt to gain sovereignty over the World. The other three Kingdoms banded together against this threat, and the West lost in the Great War, leaving their city in ruins.

The four gems were acquired by the then-Queen in the East, to protect from the forces who wished to gain their powers for evil. These gems pass on to the offspring of the royal family upon the death of the Queen, who are then appointed Guardians.

It has been one hundred years since the Great War, and now the 257th Queen of the East, Amurita, lies dying. She has appointed her four children keepers of the gems of earth, water, wind and fire. However, one winter night, when a blizzard had swept through the Kingdom, it was discovered that the Gem of Fire was missing from its case. Its whereabouts are, at present, unknown.

Regardless, the Queen has decreed thus: "To The Strongest Goes The Throne". Using the Gems, her children must do battle with each other in order to determine which of them is worthy to rule the Kingdom, and ultimately, control the balance within the world as the sole Guardian of the Gems.

The children of the remaining three kingdoms see an opening, a chance to regain what their predecessors denied them. They journey to the East to influence the battle between the siblings, not only to hopefully bring favor to their own kingdoms, but also-- perhaps-- to steal back the gems that are rightfully theirs.

As the Kingdom awaits with bated breath-- our story unfolds.
