C no Arashi - Claim no Arashi
Arashi would hear and answer claims from unhappy customers on the behalf of certain businesses under the business name "Claim Agency Arashi". This show was actually quite serious and scary at times.

D no Arashi - Document no Arashi
Under the name "Document Press Arashi" the group would go out and document stories about interesting things all around. Some of the most famous documents were about drag queens, transvestites, people with reverse internal organs, and of course the then largest man in Japan, Mr. Meguro, who became a bit of a star because of the series. This is my favorite series of Arashi shows and began some of Arashi's more famous member corners such as "A no Arashi", "Ni no Arashi" and "Hottoittara Dou Naru" (What Happens When You Leave It Alone), the last of which is still used by Nino and Ohno in the "Odoroki no Arashi" specials.

G no Arashi - Gundan no Arashi
(I think it stood for gundan, pronounced 'goondarn'. Gundan means "squad" or "troupe")
This is the show where they wore the long black uniforms of male support squads/cheer squads that are a very strong part of Japanese culture. Dressed as thus, each member would choose a video from a selection that were sent in each week, and whichever video got the most votes would result in members of Arashi going to support the cause. In this show, the corner "Minor Sports" became very famous. This is also the show that resulted in the creation of Arashi's self-created song "Fight Song". The arrangement was done by Nino, and the lyrics were chosen by Arashi from good quotes of support they'd heard from the people they had gone out to help.

On a side note, the DVD series "CxDxG no Arashi" is a shockingly limited collection of footage that is full of "A no Arashi" and poorly represents the actual work the boys did throughout the three series.

Hope this helps. If you'd like to get your hands on some eps, check out Arashian Files (http://arashianfiles.orgfree.com/) which has pretty much the entire collection with some eps even subtitled.

Glad to be of service. I absolutely love these series of Arashi shows. Currently VS Arashi is the only show that really comes close to what they used to get up to and even then it's nothing. Because I'm a fan of the old shows, despite only getting into them really recently, I can't really appreciate Himitsu no Arashi-chan and all the hype that surrounds it. It's dead boring compared to D no Arashi and the other show it seems to be mixing with, "Trivia no Izumi" (-.-);;; The storm rating system is just gay too.

"A no Arashi" officially stands for "Aiba no Arashi" or "Aiba's Arashi". I love this corner to pieces and I wish they'd bring it back. The Aibaland theme park idea of Shukudai just sucks.

BTW You're very welcome. I love these series to pieces despite only getting into them in the past few months, and AFTER seeing Arashi no Shukudai-kun. VS Arashi is an improvement on GRA (Golden Rush Arashi) which was just plain boring but actually I don't think any of Arashi's current three shows can really compare to the antics they used to get up to. Guess their schedules are just getting too full for them to be out there doing legwork anymore. (T_T)

STILL, BRING BACK THE LETTER A!

You should probably learn a little about the infamous corner of Sho's, "T no Arashi" too. XD

From: [identity profile] everystarrfall.livejournal.com
YES. XD Ahh, I LOVED T no Arashi so much. I think I had an unnatural attachment to it, really. Though all their individual segments are really good.

Aibaland's nothing like A no Arashi, but I like it. ^_^ It's still got Aiba being Aiba. I agree, though, that I think A no Arashi is probably the best segment ... uhm, ever.

You explained the whole CxDxG no Arashi thing really well, btw.

yeah, that's another one.
but what's with T no Arashi? it seems like the members are not into it everytime Sho's doing it.hahaa! i mean, isn't it enough that he is bad at drawing?! ahaha!

ADORKABLE,really! love it.

I thought the "G" stood for "Ganbare" since the show's concept was to cheer people on. I suppose either makes sense though :)

From: [identity profile] rininjapan.livejournal.com
Actually "Ganbare no Arashi" wouldn't really make sense as in the use of the Japanese itself is incorrect.

Claims of Arashi / Arashi Claims
Documents of Arashi / Arashi Documents
"Give it your best!" of Arashi...

I think "Support Squad of Arashi" / "Arashi Support Squad" is catchier.

I read somewhere that the interpretation of "G" was left up to the viewer and that it had several meanings, one of which was "Ganbare".

I realize it's not correct Japanese, but it wouldn't be the first time a show had a title that used incorrect grammar and I was just thinking that I had heard it mentioned on the show once. I mean if we're going to be that technical, "Claims of Arashi" isn't really English anyone would use. As sableheart and fullthrottle mentions the show's title was more ambiguous than the other two, so I was just pointing out something I'd heard.

According to Japanese Wikipedia (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%E3%81%AE%E5%B5%90), G stands for Ganbare!. =) But as sableheart pointed out, it probably had several meanings which kinda explains why Ganbare! was never specifically/officially affirmed to be abbreviated as G. It might just be the inference that the author of GnA info on ja.wiki wound up with. =)

Doesn't Himitsu mean 'Secret'..! ▫▫
Which I guess would mean that it translates directly into Secret's Arashi..[!? (*__*')]
I know the whole theme is a Secret Agency kind though, na!? (・ω・)/

Maa, from what Ive gathered [Ive only watched two episodes without subs! XD] It's theme is politics and Secret Jobs that people may not have heard of or had information about before. It's seems that they also go visit a person doing their job, and [as always] join in with it...
Sorry, not 100% sure but it may help!

Himitsu no Arashi-chan
Now they've developed a secret agency where each "agent" goes out and talks to a business pro (everything from bomb disposal experts and interpreters to photographers and convenience store workers) and finds out the secrets of their business that no one really knows or thinks about.

Bleh. Boring. Unless they reveal member secrets, like that Sho can't do a backflip and is having trouble doing cartwheels now, and that Jun sends really cute sparkly mobile phone messages.

Ok Nino doing magic was fun but the amount of airtime spent on him doing it annoyed me. -.-; The member count off was cute.

Sho: Hey wait, there seems to be something off with our numbers here. Let's count off. 1.
Aiba: 2.
Ohno: 3.
Jun: 4.
......
Sho: 1
Aiba: 2
Ohno: 3
Jun: 4
Nino (from backstage): 5!!!

Mago Mago Arashi is my favourite Arashi show too!! ▫♪
Especially the 'Bangohan' episodes . . .
Arashi + Kids = ♥♥

Mago Mago was far better than GRA, but sometimes I just can't stand the selfishness of some older people. Some were just like "I'm old, do what I say." It was "C" all over again. Yeah the kids ones were cute though.

I prefer shows where all the members get a far amount of screen time, even if they're not the ones who go out. Compared to "D", "MMA" and the other shows in that category ("Mayonaka no Arashi", "Arashi no Waza-ari"), really cut member screen time.

Yeah, the episodes with the Older people gave off that impression na..
Although some of them were pretty cute!
Yeah, MMA really did cut all but two out...
Although the 100th special [where they all drag around a huge tuna XD] was pretty good for seeing them all.
Man I loved that episode XD!!
