Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new fan to Arashi, and discovered them through the Jdrama Yoiko no Mikata, believe it or not. =) I enjoy their music and am a fan of Jun (I saw him in Kimi ha Petto) and Shou!

I watched Hana Yori Dango before that, and even had WISH on my mp3 list but Jun was nowhere near enough to reel me in. Takes bigger ones to catch a fan like me. ^_~

Date: 2008-05-30 08:05 am (UTC)However, the way you say it makes it sound like there are very few Sho fans outside of Japan. I don't think his fan base is really that lacking, considering I've met quite a few fellow Sho-chan fangirls through LJ.

The only two I know of who have a high exposure rate are Sho-chan and a guy called Watanabe Kazuhiro (http://wwwz.fujitv.co.jp/ana/watanabe/index.html) who works for Fuji TV. That's what I meant about pretty boy anchormen being rare, because I really think they are. Pretty girls are quite common though. -.-; How many pretty boy anchormen do you know?

Date: 2008-05-30 02:51 pm (UTC)I suppose shows like Ainori have hosts and not really anchormen, so I probably used the wrong term when referring to them. I really like seeing the wordplay (even though I don't understand most of it) between hosts who really know how to 'shabaru'. (^_^)

My theory goes that if I had seen Aiba-chan before Sho-chan, I would have fallen for him instead of Sho-chan. Aiba-chan just seems more my type. But for now he can't beat Sho-chan as my number 1! ^_~
TV Hosts - yes now that's ikemen territory. I assume you're talking about Wentz when you talk about Ainori. Yamamoto Yusuke (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j181/KabutoRider/Kamen%20Rider%20Kabuto%20Site/Casts/YuusukeYamamoto.jpg) is also another popular one, though he's gone into the drama side of things now that the show with his host position was axed. Hmm, who else is there, apart from Johnny's, or other singers? Atsushi (http://movies.yahoo.co.jp/pict/interview/20071214001/2007121400104.jpg) of the comedy duo London Boots is quite pretty too.

Jun - Domyouji, though I'd also call him the "Princess" of Arashi. Either he gets his way or he chucks a spazz! Xp
Aiba - tallest, skinniest, and a complete psycho idiot at times. Sho is usually his partner in idiocy
Nino - mole on his chin, gamer, and far too honest and open with his opinions for my liking
Ohno - quiet, short one everyone calls Leader. Can't decide which is more important, Arashi or fishing.
If you need further help, the way I learnt the full names of Kattun and News was to put up posters near my bed. These posters have the boys and their full names in English on them. There are communities who often put scans up of Arashi with their full names in English printed on them. Try searching for them.
