i'm waiting the rating for maou ep1 for 3 consecutive day... hehehehehe *silly me*.  i get high expectation that the rating must high. demo ne.... the rating only 14%... O_o

When it comes to ratings, over 20% is exceptional and not very common. 14% isn't too bad at all and besides Yamapi, Code Blue has the advantage of having popular female idols on it like Aragaki Yui and Erika Toda.

The Chinese subbing teams are amazing this time. Subbed and uploaded within twenty-four hours. You can find it on Tudou if you read Chinese. The version by subpig is pretty clear.

That's not actually all that terrible - most of Nino's dramas have an average ranking around 14-15%, even though he's a more established member in terms of dramas. Hopefully it'll go up a little, but even 14 is pretty decent for Ohno's first ever drama, and a serious one at that. :)

Oh I've been lookin for the ratings. Wat r u talking bout? The ratings are actually quite good. Over 20% is rare and its true cuz many famous ppl are in code blue like the females roles. But why are we comparing Maou to Code Blue again? are tis things related or wat?..Did I miss something?

kinda shock..i thought its going to be 20 something. everyone compare them to Code Blue but yeah beside Yamapi, Yui and Erika is very famous as well so no wonder that drama rate very high. both dramas are good in my opinion.

14% isn't THAT bad. it's decent.

well, to be completely honest, i truly thought that it would get a pretty low rating after watching the episode. (DONT KILL ME. i love ohno.)

BUT, the thing is: i was only disappointed with the FIRST HALF of how the episode went: it was toooo over-dramatic and had so many unnecessary scenes of ohno doing his evil glare etc...i mean, we get that he's evil after you play the creepy music and show him stare down the camera with vengeful eyes after the first 11694 times, you know? but the second half got better: it got really suspenseful, especially with the slight twist and the murder reinactment scene with toma.

i also thought that OHNO got some shitty dialogue...i mean, can we see him act more? but when he did act, i think he did very well. i DID get creeped out by him.

so i have a feeling that the next episodes will gradually get better IF the producers and directors realize that they need to stop caking out unnecessary, repetitive scenes to get a point across.

I hate to agree with you... I love the episode and allYes, I'm a shameless biased Ohno fangirl, but I do think that it's a little over the top too.

I didn't like the lip gloss fixation... Sure, Ohno has pretty lips, but we all already know that. And the script doesn't really call for pouty, kissable lips, right?

And the dialogue... Goodness, it's so... CHEESY. Thankfully Ohno's body language saved the day. His gait, the way he carried himself really say a lot.

omg thank god i wasn't the only one who noticed. i was trying so hard to focus on the drama and the dialogue... but all i could stare at was ohno's glossed lips -0- i think they over-glossed them XDD oh his pretty pink lips~<3 but overall, i'm satisfied with 14% (not ECSTATIC, but satisfied). hopefully after everyone saw how crazy good the first ep was, more people will watch & the ratings will soar~

but omg i never...noticed the lipgloss. LOL. idk i guess i wasn't staring at ohno's lips enough...i was looking at his eyes most of the time...and YEAH he does have pretty lips, and i've always noticed the lip gloss on like arashi photoshoots. i just didn't see it much on maou. man now i should rewatch. LOLL.

omg i agree that he kinda saved himself with the body language...mainly cuz THEY DIDNT GIVE HIM ENOUGH DIALOGUE THOSE ARSES. like when you think about it...toma got most of the action. x3

but omfg the scene...when toma and the reinactment, and when he realizes who ohno is...OHNOS REACTION IS EXCELLENT. HE'S SEETHING EVIL RIGHT THERE. it's like..."OHH HALLLLLLE NO RUN FOR IT."

and it'd be wrong to compare it to CODE BLUE. mainly because CODE BLUE is what....thursdays? Maou's is Friday's, and i think that's like the prime block when it comes to dramas in Japan. Now if these two shows were head-to-head, then you can compare, but they're not so.....

i think 14 is ok
14-15 is quite good for j-dorama

21 is very high and not many dorama can do as same as this rate
nodame cantabile gets 21 or 22% as well.

Ah, really? Hopefully the ratings will grow as the series progresses. At least it's not single digits or anything.

well 14 is decent. not too good, not too bad. average, i guess? a lot of dramas start off slow. can't rly tell with the first ep :D

code blue has pi who is considerably more popular than ohno/toma (no offense) and gakki who is currently one of the most popular actresses in japan. srsly, her popularity was so high in 07 and 08 due to koizora. toda..........well, she's popular but i'll say gakki and pi makes the difference? it rly depends on the next few eps to see if the dorama is popular.

lol, srsly though? the ohno hyper fangirl in me is screaming, "SLAY YAMAPI, OHNO!" although i have absolutely nothing against pi. i just want ohno to stand out!

there is another good reason for this: not Yamapi but the THEME of his show. A medical drama can be watched also by oldest people that don't care for young idols... a lot of medical dramas are good in ratings (example: Iryu) and started with an high result... I hope Maou will do better next week I enjoyed it so much it's such an interesting story...

And also... I feel bad for Himitsu it's a show I love so much but last season his ratings were bad because of Last Friends (bleah ;_; what a delusion!) and in this one... I don't want to see Himitsu loose again his battle ;_;
