I'm not sure if this will be very helpful, as I don't own that version of the DVD, these are just my guesses. Are you sure the DVD has Chinese subtitles at all? The description doesn't say anything about subtitles. Most HK versions are just cheaper versions of the same exact product, made only to be sold outside of Japan, and don't usually come with special subtitles. With most DVDs no matter what the language, the subtitles can be turned on and off, so it's probably the same with this one.

Sometimes you have to turn subtitles on and off with the remote - I know on one of my Japanese DVDs, there was no option on the menu to turn them on, but when I pushed the subtitle button on my remote they came on. You could always try that if you end up buying it, but then you wouldn't know for sure until you had it =/

I bought the HK ver. of the Around Asia DVD and I'm pretty sure the subtitles are stuck, though I've never really tried to take them off. The most important thing is the different DVD region factor D:

I have AAA as well and I'm sure it can't be turned off, because I tried that several times before. And it IS distracting >.< Grr!

Btw, I think this Time con is not on sale because their sale in only for in-stock items, so you can buy this anytime.

hi! i just happen to own the HK version of the TIME con. I tried turning it off to no avail. Sadly, I think it can't be helped. It's distracting, yes, but after watching it a couple of times, I got used to it.

I'm pretty sure it can't be turned off since i have the HK versions for both Time con and AAA in Dome. D: Personally i find it a little distracting during the performance with those chinese characters sticking out at the bottom, except for the mc part where i'll finally understand what they're talking about!

Region code and $$ issues so i got to stick with hk/tw versions i guess!

Hope that helps! :)
