PLEASE HELP ME A.S.A.P!!!

i agree with this one. besides, k-lite codec is kinda complete with all codecs that u need like ffdshow and divx. n in k-lite itself, there's media player classic - this is what i use to play ALL media files, n it NEVER fails.

n yes, make sure all the file names are the same except the 001, 002, etc part.

like movie1.avi.001, movie1.avi.002
not movie1.avi.001, movie_1.avi.002 <-- the files wont be joined properly into movie1.avi

Sorry if you already know this, but it's best to cover all the bases - check to make sure you've joined the files first using hjsplit (http://hjsplit.en.softonic.com/) (and that, aside from the .001, .002 etc extension, all parts have the same file name before you join them).

Once that's done, if you're still having trouble, I personally recommend that you go here (http://www.cccp-project.net/) and download everything. Zoom player has worked 99 percent of the time with any type of file I've downloaded, it's really excellent. Good luck!

Question, do the player's you're trying to open the files with -tell- you anything? Do they give you any error messages? If that's the case, it would be helpful if you copied or summarized those error messages.

If you think the problem lies with codecs, here are my -must have- codec packages that I have downloaded onto all of my computers.

ffdshow (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm) which helps with video compression, subtitles, and audio.
DivX 6.8 (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DivX6.htm) which helps again with video compression, encoding, etc.
Also, you might want to try out AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.net/project/1/releases) if you have problems with audio.

And of course, as the two above me said, check to make sure what you're trying to open is a legitimate video file, and not a part or something of the like. Hope this, or one of the comments above helps you out ^^

Hi!

I see that you've got heaps of advice already so here is my 2cents worth. I've downloaded a program called Any Video Converter from www.any-video-converter.com and this helps me convert the files I've downloaded into something that my media player can play. Such as wmv file to mp4 or to avi format. I hope this helps....
